Hi Ladies, I am currently on mat leave, enjoying my beautiful five month old daughter The prospect of going back to work makes me very sad. I would give anything to be able to stay at home with my daughter. However, I need to earn some income in order for us to get by.

I don't really want to sell products (Avon, etc.) I have considered childcare in my home, but I am looking for different options.

Has anyone become a stay at home mom and found a way to earn a consistent salary? I would love to hook into some kind of work from your computer job that I could do on my time, but it's hard to know what is legitimate out there. Anyone have any experience? Would love to hear some stories!

I have been working for home for some time, mainly freelance and I wrote a book. I suggest looking for jobs that pay per job if you are going to write. I was doing a job a few years ago that paid $5 for a 50 word product description. It was easy money. Being a guest blogger is an option too. Most blogs pay between $10 and $30 per post.
Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

Have you looked into being a virtual assistant? Depends on your skill set. You didn't mention?
Bookkeeping for small business is one. You can take a short course.
Do you have any hobbies/passions you could incorporate into a job?
You could also consider a job that you could "partly" do at home and part out. A "little" child-care is better than Alot.

I've been working at home for the last three years. I do freelance writing and also take pizza orders to help pay the bills. Pizza 73 has home order taking agents on commission. The pay isn't great, but it is an option for mothers with young children. Besides the pay, I find the main problems are lack of support, and getting fed of being around the apartment too much.

How would one go about finding places to do product descriptions? I've never blogged before, how do you get into being a guest blogger?
