Thread: Ontario Licence Renewals going up Sept 1
-
Thu, Jul 16th, 2015, 10:57 PM #1
just noticed that licence renewals are going up Sept 1 by $10 a year!
a one year renewal is going from $98 to $108 ; 2 yrs from $196 to $216
As long are you renew before sept 1, you can get the lower rate. you can RENEW EARLY!This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by heartgirl99; Fri, Jul 17th, 2015 at 07:43 PM.

Thanks heartgirl99. That's despicable. The government is squeezing us for things we need -- license for our car, so we can go to work, so we can make money, so we can give it to the government. Vicious circle. I need a car for work and can't take public transit.
Arrrgh!

So......if you have a b'day before Sept then you save paying that increase? ( and can renew for 2 years at the cheaper rate? ) But if your b'day ( and renewal ) falls AFTER Sept you are SOL? There is no escaping the money drain for everyday necessities it seems.

If you renew early would the new expiration date still be in your birthday month or would it now be in the month you did the early renewal?

Being there last year was really realization of every thing getting more expensive.. Inflation rate seems to increase with high jumps this way.

So you see folks...there is no such thing as a free lunch. Dangle UCCB in front of parents with a big fat backdated cheque before elections, and then claw it back in a price hike in other areas. Economics at its finest
