Borghese Principessa Ivory. The colour on the nails is pretty much what you see in the bottle. Couldn't find a swatch that would copy. It has a shiny finish. This is very sheer, and it took me three coats to get good coverage. This one is wearing like iron and I'm very pleased about that.

I received my red carpet manicure gel kit on Friday and immediately put on quo platinum rose. I am so glad I bought this kit, worth every penny! 2 days and it is still shinny and flawless. Regular nail polish would be chipped, and worn by now. This color is a wonderful neutral, that I will be able to keep on for 2 weeks for my first gel application I found I took a lot of time prepping my nail, and cutting cuticles to hopefully make it last for 2 weeks. I love that you can spend the time getting the polish on flawless and it doesn't dry until under the uv. (Which was nice to get all the brush strokes out with the metallic shimmer). I am in love with this manicure, and gel polish!

I was in Sephora last night and there was a polish made by Marc Jacobs.
It was $22 and "claimed" that is was a polish that could take a beating.
Has anyone tried it? What do you think?
I do not mind buying a polish that is that expensive if I know that I am going to be able to get a few days out of it without it chipping, peeling or wearing at the tips....Love like crazy everyday and smile.

Day 4 of Rock Gurl/WOW and just a little tipwear, usually I have trashed my nails by now (as you can tell by the filing cut on my cuticles lol). The tipwear is very minimal and once my nails grow back from trying the press-ons, wrapping the top of the nail better will help that too.

So....consensus is that I need to ask Santa for a gel polish kit? What are the reviews on the ones from SDM?

YES!
I read lots of good reviews for the salley hansen, and I liked the light pink color option it came with. It is 80. The quo, and nailene are 10-20 more. One thing I would look into is the power of the uv, and how long you cure each for. Red carpet kit is 75 on well.ca times are a bit longer as posted above, but 1-3 mins is really nothing. The quo comes with a neat looking cuticle tool. I wouldn't worry purchasing the kit refills. Everything you need can be purchased on it's own. You need pure acetone to remove polish, and isopropyl alcohol to remove the tacky finish.
I am on day 8 of my first gel mani. The top coat is still shiny, I have a bit of tip wear and a little chip on my right index finger. The grow out is minimal with extra effort put in to pushing back and trimming cuticles.
I am impressed that they still look so good! I am a stay at home mom, and am not easy on my hands. The gel polish makes my nails feel so much stronger. I was having a lot of peeling with always wearing polish, leaving the tips about half the thickness of the rest of my nail. This made it a bit harder to wrap the tips in the gel (hence the tip wear) but in a fewl weeks I hope most of that damage will be gone. I think I will keep the gel on for 3 more days, then its time for a new color.
