Counts in my books. I don't think I made it that much. LOL
My year in Summary
Had oil spill at house, out for 10 weeks
return to have sheds collapes and roof leaking
car needed fixing not long after that
My DS turned 8
My DD turned 11
I am now working on the down side of the 40's
Had to replace pool pump and then the weather was so bad that the pool was only opened for 2 weeks. LOL
I found out that I have the bestest friends in the world
I join SC and found some more bestest friends
My sons hockey team won a game this year
My DD came in 4th in her skating comp.
I ws spoiled for both my birthday and Christmas.
I found $10 in a book that I received as a gift. (my moms buys these gifts at the rumage sales - 50 cents to a $1, so that the kids have a ton a gifts to open. The $10 was in one of those gifts)
I bought a 649 ticket with the found money for tonight's draw.
And today is the last day of the year and I can change my message thingy on my proflie.
Next year is going to be the best year ever!!

For you to understand my 2008, you have to understand my 2007 also.
In the last two years I've:
Had my daughter's wedding. My best friend made the wedding dress, and I made the wedding cake.
Had my son's, wedding. My best friend made her wedding dress, and I made the wedding cake.
My car and my washer and dryer all died the week before my son's wedding!
Had the birth of my first granddaughter
Had the birth of my first grandson
Had three other babies born in our families.
Had my 50th birthday
Had my husband's 50th birthday. (I took him to Mosport for driver training on a Formula 1 racecar)
Had our best friend's 50th birthday
Had my mother-in-law's and my adopted mother's 80th birthdays
Gone to 9 other weddings. I made the wedding cake for 4 of those weddings. We were the Godparents to a couple in a Phillipino wedding. We were the first to walk down the aisle!
Went to Old Orchard Beach in Maine, and to Nova Scotia.
Went to Timmins at a cottage
Went to Tobermoray and Algonquin Park.
Went to Mt Tremblant
Went to Lake Placid.
Had our 33rd wedding anniversary this year.
Had our son's 30th birthday.
My husband totalled both my new car and his car within 2 months.
I worked part-time for a lawyer all year.
I also ran two Bridal Shows.
Had 38 medical appointments this year alone.
Went to a Japanese Festival.
Went to see Remesha Drums Berundi.
Renovated my kitchen.
Am in the process of renovating my living room.
Installed a wood pellet stove in the house. Now we can't find pellets to buy!
There's probably more, but I can't remember it all. It's such a blurr!

Let's see ... this year was pretty uneventful:
Had a baby
Bought a new car
Bought a new house
Got married
I'm just kidding .... here is my real list:
Had a baby
Joined SC and am thoroughly enjoying my time here
Started our retirement investment plan just before the markets crashed
Dealt with a flooded basement
Was maid of honour in my brother's wedding
Moved my brother and sister in law into their new house
Killed a dog that ran in front of my car ... still traumatized by that one
Lost my job while off on maternity leave - they closed the plant altogether, so yes, they can do that
I think that's it ... like I said, uneventful, but the most fun I've ever had cause my son was bornSwagBucks.com - the premiere digital dollar. Earn SwagBucks to redeem for great prizes. Amazon.ca are available here!
LeadPrizes.com - I have redeemed for $6 into my PayPal account in just under two weeks. You can too with this awesome PTC site!

I moved to the middle of nowhere early in the year for hubbys' job
Job got shut down, had to spend 2 months in middle of nowhere pregnant by myself while he job hunted
Moved 8 hours south in the middle of the winter 6 months pregnant
Had my son a month early
He spent the first 3 days in the NICU because he was having problems clearing mucus
He was airlifted to the Stollery Childrens Hospital when he was 3 days old
Had surgery the next day to repair a TE Fistula which meant that his esophagus did not connect to his stomach
Hubby and I spent 3 weeks relying on the best family and friends in the world as we fought for our little guy to heal
Lived in a hospital for a week straight without leaving once
Watched Drs and Specialists run test after test to determine the extent of possible abnormalities
Prayed and then heaved a HUGE sigh of relief when we were told that it was an isolated abnormality (could have possibly had major problems with brain, heart, spine, kidney development as well)
Got discharged on Mothers Day - Officially the best gift ever!
Went home, 5 hours north
Made 3 trips south this summer for follow-ups with surgeons and specialists
Went to my nieces' wedding in July
Went to our Moms house in August, built a deck at my mils house, renovated a room at my Moms house
Got to spend my birthday with my best friend of over 20 years - we only get to see each other maybe once a year so it was special to spend a birthday with her
Hubby got great job - Got fired 2 weeks later
Hubby out of work for 3 months
Hubby got another great job and is happy and still working
There are tonnes of more things that we went through this year...we were very busy. My word for 2008 was 'Achieve' but I really think it should have been 'Calm' to help me through all the stress! But we did achieve alot!

My summary goes like this.
~Lived in a motel for the first three months of 2008.
~Got my little Teacup Chi chi Ginny.
~Met DH through an internet dating site of all places!
~Saved our little guy Bear from an abusive home and began training him for Service dog work
~Moved into a slanty shanty that was not fit for living.
~Had a flood in the basement, lost everything.
~Moved into a tiny one bedroom artist's apartment in a heritage building. (LOVE it here!)
~Broke up with DH in a horrible way, then got back together. (All my SC family remembers how messed up I was over that one)
~Atthé had puppies!
~Got back in touch with my psychic roots (very proud of that one)
~About the time that Atthé had her puppies I got pregnant after trying for a year. (must have been all the hormones floating in here)
~Saw all puppies leave the nest save one, who no one called for. We decided to keep her and I am training her to be a hunting dog.
~Weaned myself off ALL pharmasuticals for the sake of baby and to keep me healthy.
~Decided to change my entire life around by learning survival techniques, aquiring a gun licence, learning to hunt. (More of it will be done in the next few months of course. Ongoing process)
The main thing I can say about this year is I grew exponentially as a person. I have never been more sure of myself and the path I am on. My life has changed completly with the little life growing inside me. It isn't about me anymore, I want to protect my child in any way possible. I couldn't have asked for a better year. All the hardships moulded me into what I am today, and have prepared me for the hardships that lay ahead. I trust in God and Goddess, and know that I will be fine.Remember that even though pets are here for such a short time they teach us things we would never be able to learn in many lifetimes on our own.

2008 was very quiet for our family. My two princesses turned two and four, the hubby and I still had the same jobs, my oldest started school, that was a biggie, went away for the first time overnight without our children, stayed friends with my friends, and met alot of new ones here on SC. Yep, it might have been boring, but after the years of drama, I guess I like it that way.
