After a few months of gathering stuffs, finally I had the 40 gift bags all sorted and ready to go. I am doing the drop off tomorrow afternoon, just in time for Mother's day. For those of you in Toronto, the shelter is called Robertson House (Gerrard & Sherbourne), a safe-haven for abused women seeking refuge with their children.
I would like to thank all the SCers who made this possible - by giving me the coupons for free or doing a super fast trade so I can use them during the promotions (HE at SDM). Another clever SCer suggested talking to my SDM manager for discounts on clearance chocolate and I was able to get 40 boxes of chocolates for an average of $0.75 each!
Specifically I would like to publicly acknowledge Givingsmall, Monkeemoo and Crazyinthedark for giving those wonderful coupons for free (60x Kotex, HE FPCs and 20+ HE coupons). Thank you for your generosity!
Here are a couple of pictures of the gift bags and the contents (artistic credits go to my mom).

Tripsplanner - wow that is so amazing and wonderful of you and your mom and what great gift baskets ... it'll make a real difference to those women to receive these things when everything is upside down in their lives.
Neat idea ... I'm going to snag a copy of your pick and link here from the thread on Food Bank/Shelter Deals with Coupons - Each Week
I'm always looking for examples and photos and ideas and creative deals ... I have learned so much from Opera Bob on working Air Mile promotions for donations, Red Mouse, Tripsplanner and so many others on ideas to help and hoping we can have another spot to ask for things when we start building "baskets" or planning certain initiatives.
Hats off again Tripsplanner putting your couponing know-how to work to help others.
