Found a great deal for those interested in stocking up on towels. All reduced towels (blue and yellow ticketed) are an extra 70% off. I was able to find the following sizes prices:

Bath Towels (large) $2.00
Bath Towels (medium) $0.43
Hand Towels $0.24
Face Cloths $0.10

But here's an example of a bargain that you can pass on if you don't need it. If you find 'em cheap, womens shelters can definitely use towels; if you're interested in sharing your finds, call your local shelter and ask what they need. Just add one to your order, spend $2, add a couple of your free or nearly free Olay soaps and drop it off. Or if you're replacing your old towels with new bargain finds, give your old ones to an animal shelter.

I know that none of us are wealthy, we're all here trying to save money for a reason - we NEED to! So we can't always afford to give. But when you can, sometimes we can get a little or a lot of something for a little or no $. Bringing even just a little something for someone who has less than yourself can bring you a lot of happiness.

Thank you, Zonny, your post is very moving. You really reminded us about what is important. You are so right and we should never be tired of hearing it. This is something I try to teach my son every day. He is 14 now and into labels and "stuff".

I certainly agree with you. When I can, I try to share my "deals" by donating items to our local church.

Even though we are not weathy, I feel that my family is incredibly lucky. We have fairly secure jobs, we've made a decision to be car-free so that's a huge savings right there.

Plus, here we are, a family. Can you imagine being in a situation where you're on your own with a child, or being abused, or can't afford to buy even the most basic staples for your family? I can't imagine not having the means to feed my son, it makes me sad to even think about it.

We're not there. We're among the lucky ones who have extras we can give to those who ARE there.

Again, thanks Zonny for your inspirational words. I contacted Yellow Brick House right after your first post (and my response) and my son and I will be taking up a car load of donations as soon as I hear back from them about exactly what they need.

SO glad to hear of you all supporting your community! An important lesson for our children, as well as us!

We brought some leftover diapers, some Olay soaps and body washes and a few other things to a shelter recently. My three year old, in his innocence, didn't really understand. "Mommy, people don't have DIAPERS for kids?" He was really struggling to get his head around that one!

Excellent post!

Always remember that no matter how tough times are, there's always someone else who is in need of help. It's a small gesture but the more people who donate, the more we can make a difference. It's really not costing us much but can make a big difference to someone in need.

Zonny, thats a wonderful post as well; something for me to keep in mind of just how lucky we are. I usually give to Salvation Army but the womens shelther is something I will try to keep in mind when donating used items again. TY

My sister sent me an email a few days ago asking if she could have some of my freebies I have at my mothers. Her supervisor lost absolutely everything in a house fire- I told her to help herself to whatever she needed.

So it seems alot of our freebies are put to good use.
