I think everyones confusing is coming in, because she is only counting the activation fees as money spent, because the VMC can be used anywhere to purchase anything, which is just like cash. and the VMC plus $5 she means, she used $5 more of her money, she didnt add it to her card. I hope that helps everyone. So it just cost her the 2 x the activation fee.

It's only $20 out of pocket.
Buy 4 M/C out of pocket is $5 each time for the activation fee.
Left on the M/C is $50 x 4 ($200)
The M/C still has the original cash to spend on anything she wants.

Wow, you were able to use a m/c to buy another m/c. I tried that they wouldn't let me. They out right told me that it doesn't make sense and that I'm only doing that to get the points and they can't do it. If I wasn't in a hurry I might stood my ground. Yes, I'm doing it to get the points because you are offering them. Why does it matter how I pay for what I purchased?

I tried both of my SDM in town and the cashiers showed me in the flyer where it says that electronic gift cards do not apply. I guess this lady got lucky with a cashier who doesn't know the rules.
