I'm thinking it's someone that I HAVEN'T traded with because most of the people who have I have traded with are quite nice...but it's hard to say since addresses are actually quite easy to get here on SC. I can ask any member for another person's address just by saying I want to mail them something. I've gotten other people's address by asking another person...so it's not that hard for someone to get mine. Or maybe I was on a train once with that person...who knows. Either way, whatever they did was not beneficial to themselves or anyone else...except maybe they will now have less of a 'competitor' to trade their save.ca with. But I DO have a suspect...but I won't name names. That person obviously and openly doesn't like me here, especially back when I said that I had gotten so many envies from save.ca in one day.

It just kinda sucks that now I can't even get a copy for myself...esp. the new ones that came out, like the Glade FPC. Oh well...

Hmm that shouldn't be happening, only that person should be giving out their personal mailing addresses. This kinda worries me.

Also, I personally do not keep records of people's addresses, I delete my pm's regularly to keep my quota down and the mailing addresses go with it. If I happen to trade with the same person again I just ask them for their address again.

It's terrible that someone would be so malicious - especially since they're only coupons!!!!!!! I mean honestly, sounds like they've really got no life :shrug: So sad that there are such jealous, mean people :frown:

Actually it's VERY easy to get anyone's address here on SC. Just take me as an example, I've traded with over 200 different people. This means that over 200 people have my address. If anyone wants to get my address, they can ask any of my recent trades by looking at my itrader ratings just by saying that they want to send me a RAOK or an envie or whatever. I have gotten people's addresses before by asking someone close to them because I wanted to send them a RAOK, and people are willing to give them out.

And yes, it worries me that over 200 people know where I live...:neutral: but I'm too cheap to rent a mailbox at the post office just for trading :rolleyes:

Do you actually think all 200 people keep your address written down or entered in somewhere? I doubt it.

You might say that you are not naming names, but all anyone has to do is to go look for the thread that you are referring to and see who that person is. So really, you are naming names.
I don't think that it's a good idea to accuse someone of something in a public forum unless you have concrete proof. It can come back and bite you in the a**.

Also, I did report those people to the moderators back then but nothing was ever done except for a warning. And now, I've contacted save.ca and was told someone contacted them about my account. I only trade on SC and nowhere else, so I can only 'suspect' that it's someone that doesn't appreciate me getting all the coupons.

I'm amazed at how now the arrow is turned onto me because I suggested that it might be someone from SC who caused all this trouble. So in a way, it's OK for people to attack me but when I rant about my problems I should be in fear of retaliation? What about all the people that accused me of committing FRAUD back then? Did they have concrete proof that I created over 70 accounts to get coupons from save.ca? (and no, I don't have the time + energy to create so many accounts) Did they get a bite on their bums for their accusations? I would think their accusations are a lot worse and more serious than mine of them reporting me to save.ca. They accused me of a crime and all they got was a slap on the hand. Now I have a suspect in mind and yet I shouldn't mention it in fear of retaliation?? :icon_scratch: That just doesn't make sense to me. People can go into my thread to attack and accuse me of a crime I did not commit and yet I should not be saying anything about something I am suspicious or worried about in fear of getting in trouble.

Anyways, going back to my rant #1, can someone please tell me whether or not I should give a negative trade rating? The person promised me a trade in October, never got the stamps, said she'll send again in early November. Waited for another month and nothing ever became of it.

Judging by what you wrote above, kaimui, clearly it is someone on SC. I don't question that.

Junerose was just clarifying you on what you said, that you won't name names, but it's true anyone can look up the thread and see who it was. You are suggesting to anyone reading this thread that that the person in that thread (I have not looked up the thread if it matters to you) may have reported you to save.ca. Am I right?

I still stand by my comment and think that if someone did actually report you to save.ca and you lost your requesting coupons ability, it was someone whom you traded with, and looking at your trade rating you have 209 people whom you have traded with, it is one of them. That is my bet and my suggestion to you is to contact these people, although they won't admit it anyway.

BTW, the person I'm 'accusing' hasn't been on SC for a while now. Not sure if they are still active as another name but their previous behavior ended up having lots of people not happy with them because they practically went around accusing everyone of greediness and fraud.

Also I still don't think it's someone I traded with..maybe I'm an optimist in that sense. Most people trade with me for both normal coupons and save.ca coupons. Reporting me does not benefit them at all. Even if it's someone that I've traded with before, I think my rant really opens up the discussion that our addresses are very easily obtained on this site. I know at least 5 SCers that DO keep address books. I've also gotten addresses of SCers that I've never traded with thru other traders simply because I wanted to send out a RAOK or extra coupons. And I, have also gotten RAOK from people who shouldn't have my address either. Even if I don't keep the address in a file or address book, the most recent trade PMs are still in my inbox and I can access the address of my most recent trades if necessary.

This individual that you suggest reported you to save.ca probably did believe that you created the said number of accounts to obtain those coupons ( not that I am agreeing, I am neutral on this whole discussion). SC is a virtual world and people have to be judgmental about what is posted. Although I am confident that most members on here are truthful, you can never really be 100% sure whether someone is lying or being honest about a situation. Taking someone’s word on a forum on any matter is hard to come by. In your case it was a bit of an extreme scenario. Some people believed it was a mistake on save.ca’s part and some didn’t and did what they thought was to be right.

Alright, I hope I am not offending anyone with my replies in this thread, this whole getting banned from save.ca is highly suspicious to me so I am trying to actually help you kaimuji with this.

You are aware of how save.ca claims that if you don't redeem the coupons that you order within 30 days you will be cut off right? I have read that and haven't read anyone on this forum actually experiencing this. I order coupons and admit I do not use a lot of them, I forget, they expire, I lose interest whatever. I try and order the ones that I think I will use however. Okay... with me so far?

Now, what IF the 150 envelopes that you received was a mistake on save.ca's part like you said? maybe your account was F l a g ged for that reason, something showed up in their spam filter or whatever saying your account accidently was credited 150 envelopes worth of orders from save.ca and thus it was suspended. Perhaps it was suspended because they are investigating how this error happened? It had nothing to do with someone reporting you.

I don't know what information save.ca gave you with regards to your account suspension/not being able to order coupons again. Are you just assuming that it was because someone reported you, or did they actually tell you that?

Yes, I know that they are able to track coupon usage. And actually a lot of my coupons DO get used. (well, not the 150 ...but I didn't get banned after the 150 envies, i just stopped receiving save.ca recently) The 150 was a fluke and probably 1/5 of it did get used. And a lot of my coupons do go to people who use them for stacking for hampers and donations to womens shelter. Someone I trade with pretty much uses at least 1/4 of all the coupons I order. So if I had 30 of the same coupon, she pretty much uses them all within a week of receiving them.

Actually I contacted save.ca after not receiving any of the coupons I ordered for the past month or so...and they told me someone contacted them about my address/file. Of course they weren't going to tell me who contacted them but I can only think of SC.

Also, I wasn't suggesting that by possibly not using the 150 envelopes of coupons got you f l a g ged, but that the error itself got f l a g ged (the error of you getting that many envelopes), do you follow what I am saying?

Not to deflate the value of coupons, but you answered the question yourself. You lost nothing in this "trade"(that didn't really happen). You have to remember they are just coupons, not a hot commodity in the real world ( yes I know they are worth the same as $ , still! ) Are a couple of pieces of paper really a worthy cause for frustration and ruining your day ?

Anyways, the main purpose my rant was to focus on Points #1 and #2. But no one answered my question to what i should do about the member mentioned in rant #1...

What's decided by save.ca can not be undone now and I will respect their decision to stop sending me coupons. I'm just a bit bothered by the fact that someone chose to do so without notifying me beforehand and whoever did contact save.ca did have my address. And like what trucks12trucks said, SC is a virtual place and we never know whos hiding behind the computer. I guess I shouldn't take things so seriously and just try to laugh it off....
