I am so upset I just got my first negative rating after 233 trades for a trade I made with a new trader.
I asked for them to mail first and when I received their end I mailed mine the next day informing them that I was doing so.
I mailed July 21st.
It is only been 7 business days since I mailed it.
This has really made me rethink trading with new traders again.
I am pretty upset as I read posts about traders waiting 3 to 4 weeks and then expressing concern about leaving a negative rating.

I have waited 4 weeks for a trade to arrive and have trades I am waiting for from June and from July 8th and would not think of giving a neg rating yet.

That is totaly uncalled for you are a great trader As insane said pm sally!!! I have not received a trade from May and never left a Negative this person is a honest person and I truly beleive it was no fault of her own

I really think we should consider some sort of trading 101 thread for new traders.

with things like:
examples of trade requests
not leaving neg ratings after only one week.
puting user names on your envie
how to do a trade rating

I can think of lots more.

There are a lot of new traders jumping into trading with out spending time reading some of the threads and getting the lay of the land.

It would be nice for everyone to have this all in one place. I hate receiving an envie with no username. I always put my username inside the envie (either in a thank you card or I put in one of my SC business cards I got from vistaprint.)

I think that's a good idea; even as a 'newb' common-sense really should prevail. CP can be slow as heck sometimes & people need to learn to be patient.
It makes people wary to trade with those of us who are honest and attempting to build a trade rating in the first place.

IMO anyone that starts giving a negative rating in under X amount of time should get a good swift kick in the blacklist; but that's just my view

I feel really bad about someone doing that to you. I loved trading with you. My first trade and It wasn't long after we made the trade and I got my envie. I hope they remove and apoligize for this elayjosh.
I would also like to see a trader101, I got lucky because my first trade was elayjosh and she was great giving me help and advise for some other trades I was doing!! She rocks!!!!

elayjosh, you are on my personal "Most Preferred Traders" list! I went and looked at the negative trade rating that was given to you and have made note of where it came from.

I agree with all that's been said about putting together a "trader101" guide thingy. You'd think some things are just common sense but I guess not.

I am happy to make one but do not want to step on anyone toes.
I also thought there was a lot of Common sense in trading but based on some of the requests I get I think not.

One thing I'd like to add, as a bit of advice that helps both parties in a trade negotiation, is to PLEASE keep the whole trade negotiation in one thread. Use the reply button and keep the whole discussion in one place!

I think it's good to be aware that some traders are very busy people with multiple trades happening at once, so anything that can be done to help them be more efficient would be much appreciated.

i have a reveresed issue lol
i was on a train and after i sent my envie to the next rider it went MIA, now whats weird is i havent been contacted by the train conductor!
I have posted numerous times in the train thread and PM'ed her tons of times, she only logs on like once a month and doesnt seem to care or remember that this train ever took place. This train started back in april!
and none of the other riders are wondering where it is either!
my question is do i just let it go? i havent pmed her in a month because she doesnt respond anyway

Also it is not just newbies who forget their username in trades. I have received trades lately from seniors or older traders who have been forgetting. The only way I can remember is by looking through my PM's. If I get an envie from say "Bridgett Jones" and I was given the person's username and addy makes it harder when I am leaving a trade rating.
