My mom and I live in a pretty large 2 bedroom apartment in a duplex (we have an upstairs, downstairs and basement). Our rent is only $400 but we end up paying about $300 in utilities PLUS the cost of our phones, internet etc. Is that reasonable (for two people)? If you feel like sharing what yours costs, I'd be interested!

Rent is $580 but they want to raise it to $630 (and I'll move) but utilities are included. I only pay for phone and internet besides the rent.

That's really good, we've been trying to find a place that's inclusive because we now need a 3 bedroom and we can't stretch the money any further DX

If you live in a place with a basement or crawlspace, heating costs a lot more.

I (my fiance and I) have a 1 bedroom that is $575 that includes heat and water. I pay my own hydro which is about $50 a month, then there's phone, long distance, internet and cable on top of that.

when my son was living in Canmore AB he was paying 1250 plus hydro..so it was like about 1600/month by the time he was done...when his g/f got pregnant and they decided that she should stay home for the first yr they decided that they should move back to Manitoba because they couldn't afford to live out there on one income.
