Can someone tell me how to do a rebate...I know it sounds silly but every time I sent one I never EVER got the money back. Do I have to send my own envelope with address on it?? or just a return address on the sent rebate envelope?? thanks for any response

If the rebate states it needs a self address stamped envelope, then yes, you need to include an envelope with your name and address and a stamp on it inside the envelope you are mailing to the rebate. If it simply says mail with sufficient postage, then that just means make sure you put a stamp on the envelope you're mailing to them - they won't cover the postage to get it to them. Not that Canada Post would take it very far without a stamp anyways

Make sure you follow all of the instructions carefully when doing a rebate. Some ask you to cut out the UPC from the product package and mail it with the rebate. I always tape it to the form or a piece of paper because I don't want it to get lost. Some want you to write the UPC on the form or on the receipt.

The end date of a rebate is usually the last day you can purchase the product. It also might be the date it needs to be postmarked by, or there might be a 2-4 week grace period to get it mailed. It might need to be postmarked by the end of that grace period, or it might actually need to reach the rebate centre by that date. It will state this on the form.

Make sure you photocopy everything before you mail it away. If I did not receive the rebate or a rejection letter by 4 weeks after the timeline stated on the form (usually 6-8 weeks) then I would be contacting the company to find out what happened. I would not just let it go, I would email and call until I got the rebate or I was told why mine did not qualify.

Just a heads up, KitchenAid is starting a new MIR on alot of their small kitchen appliances, I believe it starts on Jan 14 or somewhere around there. We just got the forms in at work...
