Yeah, I knew what their base pay was, which is why I roll my eyes whenever they go on strike for wage increases.

Their pay isn't a direct reflection of their skills, but they are unionized... and well, it's probably best for me not to start ranting about Union executives at this point.

Their union mandated wage increases every year will continue to be one of the many factors that drive up the operating costs of the TTC. And with the province and feds refusing to properly fund the TTC (comparable to other major cities), transit riders will continue to take the hit in their pockets.

Hi folks,

Not sure if any of you were aware of this, but starting next school year (September 2010), university students only have to pay TTC student fare prices! Not so good for me, since I'm done this year, but this might be good news for some of the younger SCers. =)

Victory for students!
U.T.S.U., working alongside other GTA students' unions, have finally convinced the TTC to extend the "student" price to post-secondary students! This means that starting in September 2010, all post-secondary students will be able to purchase the student Metropass (different from the current volume discount program) directly from the TTC. We will post updates later in 2010 about how this will change Metropass sales through U.T.S.U.

haha, nice pic! And to think they can make over 100k (I know I know... its all because of overtime. Ha!) I suppose they deserve the compensation for being that bored or something?
