Thread: My brag and cashier rant...

So this morning was my big shopping day. First stop was shoppers for the 15,000 points. I only used $14.00 in coupons which is no huge thing. I managed 18,500 points. After she put every thing through I asked her to total it up before putting the coupons through. After I used my coupons my total came to $69.00. So I got 15,000 points for the $75.00 promo, 2200 points for buying $15.00 in coke products, plus some 2x and 5x points for certain items like the gummy worms. I forgot that I picked up a venus embrace gift pack for my cousin for $8.99 and asked if I could use the $4.00 off coupon she didn't even check and just put it through. Then I realized later that I didn't even buy it and had put it back, but still got the $4.00 off though.
I waited for my uncle to pick me up and go to metro and this is where I was pissed with the cashier. My total here came to $26.00 OOP for $65.00 worth after $20.00 airmiles gift certificate and coupons. However I had 2 maple leaf coupons for $5.00 each which stated 4 coupons per purchase on the back. I picked up a package of maple leaf prime chicken at $10.43 but she wouldn't take 2 coupons for the package. I pointed out it said 4 coupons per purchase but she said I can't let you use 2 coupons on one package. I was in a hurry since my uncle was waiting outside. However I told her: I can't wait to shop at walmart when they become a superstore in december and I wont have to worry about shopping in this over priced place ever again. I didn't say it in a pissy way though(I had a smile on my face the whole time
) I might be wrong that you can use upto 4 per item but I still wont shop there when walmart finishes their expansion. She even said she dreads walmart when their done. I sent an email to metro to clarify their coupon policy.
All and all it wasn't a bad morning.
Still couldn't find any sense and spray though.

I've also had issues about the whole 4 coupons per product thing on those $5 maple leaf coupons! Its a pain in the butt, especially when the company sends them to you because you complained about their chicken (which we all know is not cheap).

I know what you mean, It is becoming a trend though. I will wait to hear what metro says in response to my email. I don't think it will change much but it will be good to know. I guess getting the $4.00 off venus razor kind of makes up for it even though after I got home I realized I didn't even buy the venus but still got the $4.00 off. Just kind of tired this morning since I finished work at 7am, not the best frame of mind to be shopping maybe.

I was wondering how you could have had such a big shopping trip so early in the morning! Now it's time to rest and celebrate your savings!

So here's the response I got from Metro:
-----------------------------------------
Thank you for your email.
For our Coupon Policy, we accept one valid coupon per item purchased.
I hope this helps.
----------------------
No it doesn't help, but whatever, lol.

Just quickly since I just woke up, I do realize that almost nowhere outside of LD allows coupon stacking as this would have been. This is usually because most coupons state 1 per purchase, but this one said 4 per purchase. I can see a store sticking to their 1 coupon per purchase policy but if the manufacture says its ok to use 4 then I think you can make an exception. Next time I wont have a metro gift certificate which was the only reason I went to metro in the first place, so I'll go to no frills or something.
