So, tonight there's a chance to see Comet Catalina...I have clear skies and have already located the big dipper ..will be checking after midnight, will keep you posted:
Saturday, January 16, 2016, 2:30 PM - Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as comet Catalina makes its closest approach - only 110 million kilometers away from Earth.
Astronomers say Catalina is close to the end star in the handle of the Big Dipper and should appear fuzzy and green in colour. It is recommended to try looking for the comet after midnight through the pre-dawn hours as that is when the Big Dipper rises highest in the sky. If you miss Catalina, it is expected not to come around for another 150,000 years.
