We are trying, once again, for living room furniture (got some a month ago that would not fit into our house!).
At Sears they were giving out coupons for 25% off a sale-priced purchase of $1000 or more, but only to the first 50 customers. I thought that Sears opened at 9:30 this morning for the Boxing Day sales, so we thought we'd be smart and get there for 8.
Turns out we were not so smart - because we did not note that the store opened at SIX A.M! Aside from that, the Sears store that we visited didn't even carry living room furniture! AUGH! I felt like an idiot. I figured we'd be able to get two pieces of furniture if we could score two of those coupons, now we had none!
We quickly made our way out to Bayers Lake, by now the Sears store there had been open for three hours. But guess what? They still had coupons available! So we bought a sofa and a chair this morning and got the additional 25% off each one, but it took some persuasion! The 25% off coupons said 'one per customer' (NOT one per household!). Fine, DH is one customer, I am another customer. "But it's only good on one piece!" Yes, but we're buying two pieces. "But you'd need a different credit card to use a second coupon on another purchase!" Fine, I am another customer, buying a second piece of furniture, with another credit card! She just wasn't getting it, but eventually we won. She was nice though.
