I would add that since most people have to buy tissues, toilet paper, and paper towels anyways, Shoppers usually has decent deals on all of them.....And they don't spoil.....

The Janes Chicken strips look like they are an okay price in the food part of the flyer at $7.99.
I will probably buy at least 4 jugs of milk, a couple of boxes of chicken strips/nuggets, eggs and bread. I will be using 2 SDM cards for the Tell a Friend event so I have to figure out how to break it into 2 purchases of $20. My husband is thinking of buying the P90X workout kit for the 20x points event as it is $99 and we have some SDM gift cards from Christmas to use.

The ready to serve knorr soup for $1.79 is a decent price (esp if you combine with the save.ca coupon B2G $1 off).

Quick question - In the flyer it shows a gift pack of a Olay Cream & Olay
Bodywash on at 50% off now granted it is in stock when I go shopping could I still use my coupon from Save.ca that if I buy both I save $3.00 and would that purchase qualify for the points?

I usually stock up on cosmetics and perfumes. No longer do I buy them at Sephora, it's SDM all the way on 20x the points days I think I'll be purchasing some Benefit or Dior foundation this time around. And for the tell a friend event, I'll be trying out some Soap & Glory products! I've heard good reviews :0

Not sure yet for 20X points...but really trying to get the 75,000 points as I want to redeem for a nice bottle of Chanel No.5! I`m almost at 40,000 points so not too faraway, LOL

my advice, check out anything that has bonus pts especially if you have a
$ off coupon, and its something you can use. ex. chocolate bars

Thanks for starting this thread. I think it's good to strategize between the two events since some people will do one or the other (or both) and there are overlapping sale prices.

For clarity, in the BC flyer that I posted for the SDM 20Xpoints event (see link in the first post of this thread) there is a pull out page of two weeks of savings (see post #5,6,7 and 8) and then the food flyer is actually seen between posts #18 and 26.

So, all those post #s that I've listed there show sale priced stuff that goes to January 15 and will still be on during the "Tell a Friend" event.

Thanks to Cheesecake who had a look at the Ontario flyer and listed the stuff that has different (lower) prices in Ontario. That post is #59 (in the 20Xpoints flyer thread).

Once your local flyer is online then check that through the flyer links on the blog page for the best information. I scan and post the flyer when I get it as a little advance notice of what's coming while still noting at the beginning that it's the BC flyer.

Well, we are blessed (or cursed) with a bewildering number of options! From a purely points collecting perspective and regardless of your budget, I would give priority to the "Tell a Friend" event any and every way you can.

But also remember, with the 20Xpoints event you get 20Xpoints on the full purchase, not just the $50 that is the minimum spend. Any spending above $20 on the "Tell a Friend" event will just get you regular points.

I was only going to spend $40-$50 this month at SDM, so when I heard about the "Tell a Friend" event I made a change of plans and will sign up for the "Tell a Friend" event AND get hubby to sign up under me. That way I keep our spending down to $40 but maximize the points collecting. If for some reason I had to do another $50 of spending then I would put that towards the 20Xpoints event. Fun fun fun!

ummm... nope, one registration, one $20 spend, and one award of 5,000 points. If you have more shopping to do then sign up hubby if you can or mom or... if you can't do that, then it would actually make sense to direct that spending towards the 20Xpoints event maybe... if you could make the minimum $50 spend at that. Like I said in my previous post, any excess spending in the "Tell a Friend" event doesn't get any bonus points but ALL the spending in the 20Xpoints event gets 20Xpoints!
