I emailed you yesterday following the instructions but haven't got an email back confirming my registration.
Should I go shopping or wait?

You haven't registered. You just sent a request to join, after our groups were closed. Today I've been filling in gaps in incomplete groups. Now, there's a chance that I'll be able to open one last latecomer group tonight or tomorrow morning, but I'm not sure yet. If you shopped today you wouldn't get any bonus points at all, not even the 5000 points for shopping, unless you registered for the event first. But, you won't be able to join a group if you're already registered.
