Just HAD to brag about this one!
My DH has been drooling over camcorders for the last few years, and this is the first year we can afford it, so for his birthday next week my mother in law, his brother and sisters and I decided to all go in on a big gift together.

This camera is on sale today and tommorrow at Zellers for $299.99, but I went yesterday thinking the sale started yesterday. They only had 2 in stock, so I figured my chances of picking one up today were pretty slim unless I went super early.
So instead I went accross the parking lot to 2001 Audio Video. Their regular price for this camera is $298.99. I just mentioned to the sales guy about how Zellers has it for the same price, and I could get HBC points there, so is there anything he could do for me?
He sold it to me for $279.99!
So for anyone looking for electronics, go to 2001! This was the Trinity Common location in Brampton, and the sales guy is Patrick. Super super nice and knowledgeable!
My DH is going to be VERY happy next week!Andrea

Great deal. I've found that lots of places are willing to beat and at least match competitors prices when it comes to electronics.

Nice deals sometimes by just asking. I went to a store that specializes in sports jerseys. They had jerseys for $120 which with tax would be about $135.00. I said I could only do about $85.00, and he said ok $85.00+ tax. I said it would be better $85 including tax
and we finally settled on $90 including tax. So in the end I saved $45.00 by just asking, even though I'm shy as hell sometimes I force myself out of my comfort zone and just ask.

I goes to show that almost anything is negotiable. Sometimes they will reduce the price just to make the sale although you can't expect miracles.
Way to go!

I emailed a company that makes the organic jarred baby food I like. I can never find coupons for their products anywhere. I emailed asking if they ever mail out coupons or where I could find some b/c I have been having to resort to other brands that are cheaper. A week later I get an envelope with two coupons for free products. Each valued up to 6.99! The coupons could be used for 4 or 5 different brands so we used them for more expensive products we eat instead of the baby food. Definitely pays to email a company!
