Who Else Is Against Animal Cruelty?

I am not vegitarian but am completely AGAINST animal cruelty and have not eated at KFC for a very long time! People that are cruel to animals should have the same things done to them!!!!!!!

Exactly! Peta is one of the most annoying groups I've ever seen... groups like Peta and their unethical strategies drive people to do the opposite.

That being said I am against any cruelty to animals, but I'm not going to judge KFC by a couple of videos posted by Peta.

Exactly.. it is the extreme taken to either side that is wrong.. Even that one member of the Beetles who was so vehemently against animal testing (I am sorry, names and I don't get along) softened his stance considerably when many of the treatments used for his wife when she had cancer were developed using animals...


I am against animal cruelty. I do eat animals. There are times when animals are needed in labs, and there are times when it is pointless/cruel. But to say that their is never a reason for that is ridiculous.

I used to be vegetarian...but it was because I hated the taste and texture of meat. Unfortunately, I wasn't eating properly when I was vegetarian and so my doctor put me back on chicken. (I can't eat fish because of allergies.) Hubby cooks for me now and he loves meat- but if I have a choice I always go for the vegetarian option.

I have major problems with animal cruelty... I witnessed way too much first hand... I used to volunteer at the SPCA. But at the same time I dislike Peta. They have turned off way too many people with their antics and their extreme ways while being hypocritical themselves. You should see Penn & Teller's show on Peta.

I'd like to put something else out here - if any of you women take Premarin as your hormone treatment ... You ought to know that the drug comes from PREgnant MARe urINe. These mares are kept pregnant their ENTIRE lives, so that their urine can be used to make this drug. They're denied free access to water so that the estrogen level in their urine is more concentrated.

This is how they spend 7 months of their 11 month pregnancy. Once they give birth, it's right back in the stalls.



Because they're keeping them pregnant, obviously foals are being born, but nobody wants them so they get slaughtered (though they argue this is false - when hundreds, if not thousands of mares are popping out foals all the time, there just isn't the demand so they are killed). Then the mare is impregnanted again and the cycle continues. There are adoption centers for the foals and mares that have been discarded because they're too old. Like I mentioned before though, there aren't many people willing to take in a mare that they can't ride, or a foal with no papers. These poor animals are killed when they can't be given away.

Man is the only carnivorous/omnivorous animal I know of that can have a crisis of conscience about eating other animals.

Have never seen a lion or tiger or my house cat have moral issues with killing another animal to feed itself or its family.

If I had to, I would personally kill a cow/chicken/whatever to feed my family. But I would not toy around with it or make it suffer - only do what is necessary.

I feel sorry for the horses but by the same token..I was 25 when I had a hysterectomy...I needed the premarin to keep me healthy and sane

I would not suggest that anyone who requires it stop taking it...

I was not able to take it for as long as was suggested because of other medical problems and family history but it is a worthwhile drug and has a use.

I too am a meat eater and will remain so. I also hunt and will continue to do so.

I am against cruelty and animal testing but please remember when you are talking about animal cruelty it is not just the drug & food industry that is cruel to animals

look around your town and see the animals who are abused and abandoned and help w/ these too.

I support many wildlife foundations in a huge way and I support my local animal shelter with monthly donations...

I don't have a pet and do not want one as it would be cruel for me to own one as I work too many hours in a day and I travel too much.

the animal would be left home alone for long stretches at at time while I am working and would spend a lot of time in a kennel when I am traveling.

exactly BCT...sometimes lab animals are needed to prove the safety of drugs that are needed for treatment..

I don't believe in bic poking rats with pens, or poring soap in an animals eyes...but testing diabetes drugs is a different thing

Peta is very annoying...I do not believe in most of the actions they take..they are radical and put ppl at risk by their actions...and if they have ever lived where the temp gets to -45 and colder in the winter...they might think different about wearing a fur or eider down coat.

Its not the eating of the animal... its how that animal gets to your plate that is the horrible thing
I do not eat meat nor does my boyfriend.
We decided this after watching a movie called "Earthlings".[WATCH IT!!]
I cryed for an hour straight.
He didnt sleep right for weeks.
I have 2 dogs and 2 cats.
When i found out that pigs are smarted than dogs AND 3 YEAR OLDS
I cryed... these animals are being skinned ALIVE sometimes.
Think of your children or your pets... they kno whats going.. so do these animals.
I LOVE peta, one day i hope to work for them.
These animals can not talk for themselves... and i think since humans are so mouthy we should.
Before hating on peta and how "annoying" they are.. watch the movies and read about what happens to these poor animals so we can have the "best" makeup.. EVEN MARS TESTES ON ANIMALS!! We cant even eat chocolate without hurting something now.
