Hello everyone! I just got a card in the mail saying my neighbourhood A&P is becoming a Metro grocery store. I have never heard of Metro before and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it? Is it better than A&P? It says there will be more selection, etc.
It opens on Friday- east end of the city in London, ON.
Also if you spend $10 you get a free reusable bag!
Thanks for your help guys!

Metro owns A&P and the former Loeb stores.
They go by the name Metro in Quebec, they have converted the Loebs to Metro and are now converting the A&P also.
You will not notice much difference. Please vote daily for my ferret site.

In TO, they've already converted the Dominion stores to metro. Dominion was always the most expensive grocery chain because their products are fresh and of high quality. I just don't associate metro with the same reputation, so I've done less shopping there.

Yep, I think its the same pretty much. Even their flyers look almost exactly the same as the old dominion/A&P ones did.

I compared Loeb, A&P and Metro flyers a couple of times before everything became Metro and they were exactly the same (except that Loeb never had airmiles.) The only thing I've heard a few times from people who used to shop at Loeb is that when they changed into Metro stores, they seemed a lot cleaner and up to date.

Is it just me, or are most cashiers at metro miserable, grumpy and rude? And I hardly ever use coupons.... can't imagine what would happen if I did.
