I find Listia to still be more of a U.S friendly site, most of the stuff unless its a giftcard type thing, people are not willing to ship to Canada because apparently it costs more to mail things here....like another 50 cents

bunney40 - that's true - many more Americans who ship only state side.

Part of the reason I've fanned all the 234 Canadians I could find - I just browse what's posted by the people I've fanned and pick up what I like.

Woo hoo!! Had a great listia weekend Finally found a TON of Canadian friendly auctions, and was able to spend some credits (some are from Canadian sellers, some are from US):

Two different auctions for tomato seeds - can't wait for my garden next year!!
    Some FPC's
PS3 move Ape game (download from the PSN network, so my son was already playing it )
    $50 Oldnavy/Gap/Banana Republic GC
New Rio Party Edition DVD + CD
    Some beach glass
Japanese Akoya 10k pearl & diamond pendant with necklace
Vintage garnet 10k gold pendant & earrings set (Myself and my mom are born in January - so, I'm tempted to keep it, but have her Christmas gift now )
    10 small A & W rootbeers

And I was just thinking I would never spend any of my credits - now to camp the mail box!!

Have you ever looked it up on eBay? It used to go for some crazy-high prices!

I looked it up just after I bid out of curiosity - and if there was an ocean near by, I would be collecting it, lol! I'm going to put it in a clear hurricane vase in a niche at our entrance, it's going to look great!!

Way to go ... so you got the A&W root beer ... I was bidding on those for a bit LOL.

This week was a bit slow for me - an FPC for cat food. I kept being offline near the close so missed the Crest FPCs. There's more coming.

I need to get listing things -- I have garden seeds to list and other things.

Awww...sorry!! I wasn't around for the end of those, so put in a good bid earlier and just had to hope it held up! I got the email, and told my son - he was the one insisting on the root beer, so was very excited to hear the mail man will bring him a present.

Post when you list the garden seeds!! Those seem to do really well on Listia I'm on full garden planning mode, and will have to check them out

    Hurrah - that's so great.

It's actually easy to do but when I started I had to read a lot to figure out what was what.

    • free product coupons are OK
    • cents/dollar off NO
    • Huggies points work in USA and Canada
    • Pampers points work in the USA and Canada
    • Box tops for Education - are different in USA and Canada
    • icoke pins are different in USA and Canada

I have tip sheet somewhere that I ought to dig out with other quick points to know about.

I have a few questions concerning the verification of the account. So, in order to bid, we must have our phone verified, is that correct? If so, I see them asking for 10 digit US number, so do we just put a 1 in front of our phone number? And is there any other way so to allow us to bid without having our phone verified?
    Thanks

You dont need to verify for anything as far as I know unless they changed the policy. I did verify everything, and now I am up to 108 successful auctions won and sold
I have 200+ people in my favs that ship to Canada, most americans will ship to Canada as long as its something under 8oz (dvd,cd,games etc)

I've been on Listia for nearly 2 years.

I just started going on Listia this month so I'm still pretty new and don't know much! But each time I want to bid, I get the following message:"Oops! Bidding on this auction is only available after you verify your account or have wings." and so I was not able to place my bid. I would prefer to not have my phone verified but if this is really needed, does anyone know if a canadian phone number works as it says "10 digit US number". Can anyone help me out on this matter? Thank you.
