    Hi all -
    I know, it's really, really early - the kids aren't even back to school yet, but ...
    what are your thoughts on a winter holiday cookie exchange?
    Yeah, it's faster to say Christmas, but I don't want to discriminate, so *winter holiday* covers Kwaanza, Yule, Xmas, etc.

    Just something to thing about ... it would save us all from having to bake a bunch of different cookies (hopefully saving us some time & money - and give us a change to gripe about the holiday crowds! LOL)


    Personally, I love to bake, but doing up a bunch of different holiday recipes leaves me with very little holiday bargain-shopping time! LOL

    No more than about 6-8 in a group, I would say ... otherwise, it becomes too time-consuming to bake them! LOL

    i am totally interested, i live up in duncan tho...

    i could also whip up some of the wheat free cookies i make for anyone with allergies in their family/ guests... its a pretty basic recipe, but i make them quite a bit for my son

    My best friend lives up there - she drives down every 2nd Saturday night so we can go paint the town red! LOL ... besides, Duncan is only 30 minutes north. I think we Islanders are the only ones who really think 50km is considered "distance". haha

    When we get a little closer to time, we should have a list of any food allergies we all have, so that everyone can enjoy the goodies!
    I'll start PM'ing people around Hallowe'en, checking for food allergies, etc. I'll also be asking what flavour cookies you want to make, to ensure a nice variety ... much as I love shortbread, I really don't want 6 or 8 different versions of it! LOL

    i agree that most people don't think that the distance is all that far, but when u don't drive it becomes a heck of a lot farther to go,
