As ye know I've been looking for a dishwasher. So today we did the appliance strip in KW. For those of you who don't know the area Sears/Home Depot/Future /Costco are all beside each other on the same street.
In features we were looking for a dual arm dishwasher: one under the top rack and one under the bottom. The minimum regular price on this is $550 pre tax but our budget was calling for $450 taxes in. So yeah we were optimistic.
Sears had one from $499 to $380 not bad..next stop Home Depot
Here we saw a tall tub/dual arm/stainless steel look for $350
The saleslady came over and was saying "you wont get a better price anywhere..what a deal" blah blah blah. I asked if by chance it came in white and she took the tag off. There was a tag underneath for $450.
She goes "see the great deal..you are saving $100". She goes to type it in and says "oh this is not the right sku for that dishwasher". By this time Hubby wanted that dishwasher for that price as it was posted. He asked for the supervisor.
He comes over listens about how the price $350 was on the dishwasher and we would like to buy it for that. He goes yup, give it to them, smiles and walks away. It was the easiest most amazing customer service we've ever received. We said we didnt even know the reg price for the dishwasher and he goes neither do I and laughs.
It turns out the dishwasher was $550. With taxes and delivery we paid $440. Can you believe it??
Oh and on a side note if you are still reading this..Home Depot charges delivery regardless if you get it sent to the store for pick up or delivered to your home. If you get it delivered to the store, the warehouse charges $85 but the store charges customer $50 or if you get delivered to your home the warehouse charges $50 but either way unless you get a floor model or in stock you have to pay delivery.Last edited by camera_mom; Fri, Jan 29th, 2010 at 05:39 PM.

Great move by the salesperson to get you to buy the dishwasher you didn't want (you wanted white).

Well that was hubby's fault, he figured why care if our dishwasher matches if you cant see it when you look into the kitchen. If we pushed the white issue we might not get the deal.

Woooooo!! Holler! How awesome!!
It's amazing how much things are marked up. After having my daughter's daddy work at Fuitureshop and learning "cost" and "marked up" amounts... WHOAH!
You got an awesome deal!
