Hi Everyone,
Before I ask something I would like to say thanks to all of you wonderfull people who post deals here.I am a regular visitor of smartcanaks and have saved a lot by this site.This is a first time I am writting here and hope ask correct questions.I would be greatfull to you all is you help me know what and how to buy in costco as I become there member this week only.Thanks in advance

I go there for dog food, water, milk/cream, paperback books, 3 loaves of garlic texas toast, windshield washer fluid, Milk bones, paper coffee cups, Kirkland cleaning wipes, Kirkland trail mix, Pizzzzzza (really good not frozen pizza), and much more.
I love my membership but hate waiting at the door to leave!!!!

I dont have a costco membership because i never want to pay it. is it really worth the annual fee? I have one kid and with another on the way I am wondering if it would be worth it to start shopping there. It's up the street so it isnt like it is an inconvenience to get there, I just get hung up on membership costs

I love Costco!!! I buy diapers I have 2 on diapers love the quality!!wipes! kirkland signature products love the pizza too!!! meat, breads my colombian coffee( my country) we are a family of five so I find everything that I need I have been regular member since 2005 but I upgrade to executive because the lady checked my account and told me that I can get some money back if works the membership pay bi itself is a good thing if not she say the refund my money!! good luck

We have a costco membership. We split it with my mom and dad so it makes it worth it. We usually only get Lillydale chicken breasts, LD turkey there. I also get the refills for our water cooler and cheese. Sometimes I get stuff like flowers(summer time), chocolates, CD/DVD's and other promo deals they have. Oh ya, and I fill up at the gas bar sometimes too.

I laugh when I read your ending, daisybear, coz that is exactly the same thing I hate!

I don't understand the need for them to look over our receipts actually... But I guess whatever keep people employed!

I am signed up on my mom's membership, so I don't pay any annual fee. We go there for the samples on the weekends and buy stuff like meat, coffee, and just look around most of the time.

Last time we were behind someone that didn't pay for some items that were in their cart.
So that would be why they check your receipt.

However 95% they don't actually check it. And I've never waited more than a minute.

As for a Costco membership....do any of your friends own a business and have a card? they get good deals on memberships. My dads is $10, mine is free.

this is a nice idea!!!!!!!!! can you plzz tell me that........do you need a business visiting card or business credit card for good deal on membership? and also do you have to negotiate at the customer service desk for getting discount on membership? thanks for any help.
I think we should get one if we get a good deal like 10$ or little more

I have the executive membership and will soon find out if it's worth it (pretty sure it is). Costco is really worth it for clothes. Most of my clothes I purchase there and usually when reduced. Tip to the wise, bring your receipts with you when you go. They often lower prices to liquidate stuff and you can be reimbursed the difference no matter how long. Great place to buy meat, bread, coffee, cheese, chips (especially salt & vinegar!)

Oh I remember being chastised by the door person because I put a book in my purse( sorry I forgot the rules okay, lol) instead of leaving in the cart till after they checked the receipt, ooops

My in laws have a business membership.... so we get our card for free.... we go there for milk,cat litter,pet food,rawhides, cheese, paperback novels,stamps, got a wii game from there a few weeks ago!

With a family of 5 we get a lot of stuff at Costco. Basics like Milk and Cheese are cheaper there than other stores. Produce is significantly cheaper at Costco. 5 pack of Romaine for 3.99. Sugar Snap Peas and Sweet peppers are all cheaper there.

I buy my contact lenses there when there are promos. When our boys were little we bought all our diapers and wipes there. It was easier than managing coupons for Huggies and we likds their wipes better than Huggies or Pampers.
Last time we moved we even used their Real Estate services and got a cheque back for almost $3000 in fees. I have bought a lot of stuff online from them as well and was amazed at their service (our King bedroom set, wine cooler, Hockey locker, Wii)
Kids snowsuits in August are also a great deal.
If you can resist the impulse items there are many great deals
