Walmart Niagara Falls Question

does anyone know if printable coupons are accepted at walmart and do you have to pay taxes on "try me free"
I have general mills coupons and glade coupons I want to use tomorrow

Here's the email response I got back a few months ago from Walmart on my same question about internet coupons:

As long as the following criterias are met on the coupon:
Scanable barcode is present
Dealer address to forward the coupon to redeem
We accept them.


I was at my local Walmart yesterday, and had 9 of the "Try Me Free" coupons for Glade. I got nine, and a couple of other things that I was pricematching, and spent about TWENTY MINUTES at the cashier's desk. They had about 4 different cashiers and a supervisor in on this, and reading the fine print with my magnifying glass (which I brought along to make sure they could read it.)

End of the story...I paid taxes on them. Yet, even though the supervisor read it word for word out loud, it didn't say anything about the tax. She tried to tell me that the "handling fee" meant the tax. I explained that that is something the company pays to Walmart for handling the coupon.

Anyway, I'm not complaining about the tax. I'm very happy to get this product for that small amount, but my local A & P store insists it is NOT taxable. There's no explanation for it, except how each store decides to handle it. It's just not worth the trouble of fighting about it.

Oh, and these are the only stores so far that I have found that don't accept printed coupons:
A & P
Canadian Tire
Canadian Super Store in St. Catharines.

I spoke to the manager of the Niagara Falls Wal-Mart a few months ago & he assured me that their store accepts printed coupons.

I'm not sure of the tax policy, I've always had to pay it.
