PharmaPlus *bleep* me off today!!

I phoned pharmaplus today to ask if I could use my Glade Fresh Effects coupon along with the one in the booklet, they said yes. I also asked if they accepted printed coupons, they said yes. So I rode my bike there and they were sold out of the Fresh Effects kits, my fault I should of asked if they had any. So I grabbed 2 ot the Glade air freshners marked on sale for .99 each, I also grabbed 2 candles. I get to the cashier and give them the 2 "try me free" coupons for the candles, the gave them 2 of the "2.00 off any glade prodcut" coupons and they refused to take them because the value was higher than the price of the prodcut, they said they were on clearance, yet the sign that indicated the price of .99 said sale price, not clearance price.
I ended up walking out with just the candles, I wouldn't really of cared but it was quite a long bike ride for me, well not far but when you have bronchitis, asthma and ddd it "is" long.

A few weeks ago I also had Rexall tell me they couldn't accept a coupon that was higher value than the price the item was selling for. I asked if they could adjust the coupon down the selling price (was talking with the manager) and he said no because that was illegal. So I didn't buy the items.

I just don't see why they can't adjust the price and write the price down on the coupon. Don't forget most coupons says tax included in the face value. So if the item is taxable and is $1.99 the $2 coupon should be allowed.

The store will get the full value of the coupon I don't see what the big deal is. Try another store.
