Thread: Shopper's Drug Mart Cashier
-
Sat, Feb 27th, 2010, 05:19 PM #1
I went into Shopper's today to pick up a few things and got up the cash to be rung through and heard the young male cashier chatting with the customer in front of me. The cashier was genuinely happy and seemed like he enjoyed his job. Then it's my turn and again I get the same happy, personality from him.
I just thought it was nice to have a good cashier working there since Shopper's cashiers are normally who we are complaining about. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

It so nice to find a happy cashier at SDM...I was thinking that it must not be a very fun place to work as most of them are so grumpy!

Yes, but the good is what most of us think of as the norm expect right? We shouldn't HAVE to tell them this is the right way to do business!
But it's still a good reason to send a message to his supervisor, pointing out that he's good at this.
Not all managers realize when their people are doing good work.

That goes for everything though, you expect to get good service and when you don't and get bad, you get upset about it and complain to someone and that often times ends up being here. People are much more likely to take action when they are upset than when they are happy in customer service.

I find SDM has the best services when is comes to picking Drug stores...and Yes they are the more priceier place but They have rewards and they know how to treat their customers. Its kinda of funny but in Moncton NB we have about a dozen SDM but we only really love one specific one that is not the closer one to our house because the OWNER is so awesome and the staff is super amazing! Feedback is definitely important NEgative or Positive.

I find SDM the worst for coupon use, I find their deals average and their cashiers mainly grouchy

I used to be a cashier at SDM, hehehehe. However, I think I was friendly to customers
. For those people that write to managers about good cashiers
you are awesome and appreciated!

I have always find SDM cashiers in general a lot more pleasant than say Wal-Mart, Zellers or LD ones. Definitely let the manager know that they have a pleasant cashier. Those are hard to come by.

Like all Canadian corporations, I find its hit and miss. It often depends on the personality of the person who you end up dealing with. I find this particularly true with banks. One branch may offer great service and another watch out. I find the same inconsistency is generally true for SDM. Some cashiers are good, others less so. Canada's customer service industry is so inconsistent (the same is probably true everywhere).

Oh, I agree that there are some really cranky cashiers working at SDM, and it kind of stinks that friendly customers have to deal with it. This thread is reminding me how extremely stressful it was at times working as a cashier at SDM, yikes! Anyways, I hope everyone deals with friendlier cashiers the next time they go shopping!
