Is it possible to get points for both of these offers - 1) in-store offer of "get X point WUB 3 products" and 2) a personalized offer of get 8000 points WUS $Y?

Would the use of manufacturer coupons change the answer?

Yes those combine. It is "when you SPEND x amount" offers that do not and no coupons do not affect the outcome of those points being awarded.

in-store bonus points: 24220
total points earned today: 25100

i had 2 x 3000 points for diapers which they scanned fine. I loaded 3000 points when you buy $10 of food and snack which I bought 4 x pop 6 packs and 4 doritos. I found out that pop do not included in the food and snack so i did not get the bonus 3000 points.

can someone explain the in-store bonus points to me? TIA

Pop does count towards food and snack but you can't combine that offer with the 20x so that's why you didn't get those points. I store bonus points would be points earned from the 20x or products with bonus points attached.

You got your 20x points, and 6000 vib, you also bought something that had 1500 bonus points (880*19+3000+3000+ 1500 (?) = 24220, which is what your instore bonus points). That tells me you bought something else that had bonus points (1500 worth). Did you buy a bunch of vitamins?

As the others said, the food and snacks coupon do not combine with the 20x, although if you had done your pop and doritos separate in a separate transaction it would have worked. Pop works for food (but not for candy and snacks)

I was told that there is going to a points redemption soon and I has wonder if anyone could tell me if there is a big SDM in London or Windsor that has lots of fruits and vegetables. My in Chatham don't have that much and I have enough points for $210.00.

Ok, I am new to this whole points thing, can someone tell me where I went wrong:
Today was 18500 points WUS $75 (in western Canada).
I spent $77+ before taxes, giving me 770 regular points.
In-store bonus points: 21190
Total points earned today: 21960

Bonus points I anticipated getting were:
- 10x the points on participating products, the exact products were listed on this site (http://www1.shoppersdrugmart.ca/en/h...ation/products) - they were 8.99 and 13.49, so I'd anticipate 2100 bonus points.
- Coupon for 1000 points for infant tylenol
- Coupon for 1000 points for Johnsons baby product
- 800 bonus points when you buy 2 of: infant tylenol, motrin, johnson's, or aveeno (https://www1.shoppersdrugmart.ca/en/...ers-new/jj-vib) - which I did.
- Coupon for 500 points for life brand gripe water
- Coupon for 1500 points when you spend $15 on baby items (from VIB welcome package) - I see from previous messages that I can't stack this, so I guess I forefeit this (but why would this show as scanned on my bill?)...

So, assuming I forefeit the 1500 points coupon (grr, would have saved it for another time had I known), I'd still expect:
18500 + 770 + 2100 + 1000 + 1000 + 800 + 500 = 24670 (and not 21960 as given... hmmmm).

Any insight you can give would be much appreciated!

I am pretty new to SDM too. I think I can explain the break-up of your points i.e. what you received and what you didn't. So far as WHY is concerned, it is anybody's guess!

Bonus points I anticipated getting were:

10x bonus points (BP) are calculated as total 10x including the base points, so, extra points will be 8*90+13*90=1890 and not 2100.

These coupons didn't go through. This has happened to me twice for a VIB coupon. The coupon gets voided once my optimum card is scanned. At another time, my printed coupon appeared on the receipt but didn't get added to the points (Dessange 1000 BP coupon).

My theory is that they probably don't let you combine certain promotions- perhaps, it is because 800BP promotion was for the same products as your VIB coupons (more often than not, these promotions do combine- again, systems are not consistent across different locations or even in the same location at all times) OR they try limit the number of certain kind of coupons per optimum card per time period OR it could be a simple glitch in the system!

You didn't receive this. Again, sometimes printed coupons go through; sometimes, they don't because either they get voided or don't get added to the totals.

You guessed this right. WUS (When You Spend) coupons related to categories (baby products/food & snacks etc.) don't combine. WUS promotions for individual products/brands combine (For e.g.: 10x points on Clinique WUS $50+, again, some people say they don't combine- for me personally these coupons have always stacked)

So, what you received is:
18500 + 770 + 1890 + 0 + 0 + 800 + 0 = 21960

Basically, none of your VIB coupons got added. Do they appear in your receipt? If not, they got voided during billing. If yes, it could be any of the reasons I mentioned. Personally, I have never had any issues with any of the online coupons, it has only been with printed Bonus Points coupons. So, I am mostly prepared for them to not be awarded and shop only if the prices make sense irrespective of whether printed BP coupons are added.

I distinctly remember one time when I scanned my optimum card before billing but VIB coupon didn't get applied. I just assumed it was because I had bought the same item/used the same coupon 2 weeks prior to that. The same thing happened with a Dessange BP coupon once with my card but it got applied to my SO's card a few minutes later
Anyways, in future, I will make sure to always scan the optimum card before a VIB coupon- whether it goes through or not is another matter Thanks for the tip

You are not the only one who didn't know the answer. I have the spend $40 and get 20 time the points and i was clueless! This thread is teaching me sooooo much!
