I think I found a different answer for question #1:

L’Alberta abrite la plus importante population de Francophones (hors-Québec) avec près de 578 000 habitants.

(translated to "nearly 578,000"; from: http://rvf.ca/communautes_francophon...cophonie_f.php)

I got the same answer for the other two questions.

Now I'm not saying for certain that 578,000 is correct. There is a difference between a Francophone and a person who speaks French (i.e., is bilingual), although you would expect the # who speak French to be higher. And the site isn't very well set-up (e.g., English pages are incomplete), so maybe it says 225,085 somewhere else.

Or they may have changed the info on the website since Tux posted the answers (a month ago). But I wanted to note what I found in case anyone was still planning to enter.

The deadline for the contest is April 24th.
