BEAUTIFUL!!!!

A Poem that always gets me is The Dash by Linda Ellis:

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on his tombstone
From the beginning to the end

He noted that first came the date of his birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered the most of all
Was the dash between those years

For the dash represents all the time
That he spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved him
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash

Okay I'm back in the explaining business. This one is obviously a Rutles word...

I just got back home from a bbq held at my kids' school. While there, my 8 year old son asks me if he 10 year old 'girlfriend' can come home and spend the night! I try to be diplomatic and say 'naw, it's a school night'. The 10 year old girl looks at me and says, 'duh, we GO to the same school!'. LOL.

Something tells me the next few years are going to be interesting.

hey everyone, back from golf. whew what a day. i can't remember ever spending 7.5 hours to play eighteen hole. too many people. 8 per hole. ahh well, that's what you get in these charity tourneys. was fun but loooong. hope everyone's day went well. one more to go before the weekend.

my daughter heads to camp on saturday to work as a councilor. gone for the whole summer. she's used to it though, she spent 2 months in france on an exchange when she was in grade 8. my little girl is all grown up.

The Bridge
A man on his Harley was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, God said, 'because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish.'

The biker pulled over and said, 'Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want.'

God replied, 'Your request is materialistic; think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports required reaching the bottom of the Pacific and the concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly help man kind.'

The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally, he said, 'God, I
wish that I, and all men, could understand women; I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, why she snaps and complains when I try to help, and how I can make a woman truly happy.

God replied: 'You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

Just got home from my Sons Grade 8 Grad... wow I got me a smrt kid!!!! Honor Roll plus the math award.. Wow I only got an award for showing up.....a few times
