If my memory serves me correctly, Simpsons was part of The Hudson's Bay Company.
I do not recall Sears being Simpson Sears in Canada. It could have
been though it doesn't ring a bell.

Simpson-Sears was a joint venture only in the USA. When Simpsons went under in Canada some of their stores were acquired by the Bay, I'm thinking it was in the 70s but I haven't looked it up.

The sad thing is that the Bay is no longer a Canadian company.

Okay folks... quick question...... from my seasoned travelling friends.....

I got a super amazing deal to Caya Coco for september. I'm staying at Melia Caya Guillermo.

Has anyone ever stayed at the hotel and / or gone to Caya Coco... and what are your thoughts???

I checked the online sites that rate the hotel and its been "good". Just wondering how Caya Coco is. I've been to Holguin Cuba... which is nice, but the resort I stayed at was for seniors.... the youngest senior was 70! I was the only 40 something there... so needless to say.. it was the trip from hell. Everyone was in bed by 10pm.

Have been to Cayo Coco a couple of times and enjoyed it. I also had the same problem as you though. All the other guests were MUCH older. At least 40 plus.

The man who bought The Bay, also owns Target department
stores in the US. He modeled some of the Zeller's stores after Target.

Just got in from running down to get my mail - forgot to go earlier & am waiting to see if Rev Canada thinks I'm someone I'm not (they're either drunk or on something illegal, my Mom got a nasty letter claiming she lied on her tax form & she's a divorcee - news to her!). Friday's going to be fun trying to convince a beaurocrat that they're wrong. Grrrr.

On the plus side, I ran into my neighbour who's the liquor, er, licker queen. Silly pup decided she had to thoroughly lick me from my knees to my ankles. needless to say, I'm now in the doghouse with these two for fraternizing with another dog.
