How are you folks doing? It was +32 here today and no one can recall Nova Scotia being this warm even during the summer and certainly not at the end of Aug beginning of September.
We wanted to go Puffin watching this am, however it was coolish up north and looked like rain, so we headed back to Baddeck to pick up something and we ran into Michael Ignatieff and his Liberals. adjacent to where we had our lunch. I saw a crowd and a large bus (which is highly unusual around here),reporters, camera men, photographers... I stood and watched and realized my lunch was more important.
We are in Dartmouth and will go touring tomorrow. You must visit Nova Scotia. Every city/town we have visited is so different from the next. Some like Tatamagouche haven't changed in 40 + years. Still no highrises, no fast food, no Starbucks and 1 grocery store.... and no one here charges for bags. Most of the homes are made of cedar shingles, or wood siding. 98% have no brick what so ever and many need a good coat of paint. We are quite spoiled with such easy access to Home depot etc...

Also, is anyone else finding it really slow to click on the sites lately? It seems like the Q web is "re-setting" itself after you click on a site.... just me???

So I went into one today....to check it out and it is true...!!!
Apparently it appears here every year for a limited time around now!
I hope to try one before I leave Nova Scotia.

My wayward package, which was 'expedited' on Aug 20, has been in the Golden Horseshoe for 48 hours now. Looks like it is tucked in for the night in Concord. Maybe tomorrow. Good thing I'm not waiting for a transplant. Would a human liver still be viable after 13 days?

Try the trapese as well. Similar to the ceiling fan, but your timing isn't as critical.

It is everywhere here that on Saturday, the hurricane is expected to land and will be rated as a 1. Have been checking the radar around here and watching the news... We are supposed to be in Halifax on Saturday at some point so that we will be close by the airport for our Sunday departure. My daughter is scared due to all the weather alerts on the radio, in stores, campgrounds, hotels... I do my best to remain calm.

Not so sure we can change our flights. I will call and see what can be done!

Just remember to get out of there before Saturday if you can.
