It is everywhere here that on Saturday, the hurricane is expected to land and will be rated as a 1. Have been checking the radar around here and watching the news... We are supposed to be in Halifax on Saturday at some point so that we will be close by the airport for our Sunday departure. My daughter is scared due to all the weather alerts on the radio, in stores, campgrounds, hotels... I do my best to remain calm.
Well, I'll be crossing my fingers for you. Have a contingency plan in case you can't get out by air right away. And don't take any chances, okay? It's not the S-S rating, it's the amount of rainfall or storm surge that can be the real problem.

    Two or more timer.

CAT 1 hurricane is nothing to worry about.
Stay on the sea bed and you won't even feel it.

As long as it was on ice and you fry it good in butter with onions.

Not so sure we can change our flights. I will call and see what can be done!

Boy, you did good. My wife got an appointment at their memory clinic for the end of October a month ago.

Tiny Tom samples are in the Food Bldg (also coupons for 1 free dozen if you buy 2 dozen).

The butter & bacon specialties are on the midway. We were told to look for the huge line-ups, they were right.

Make sure you bring your apetite.

[ I was also at the CNE today, going to the "rock on ice" and managing to squeeze into the Superdogs show as well.

I was impressed with the band for that show, even more so than the shirtless guy who did the, um,
"pole dancing?" ...Maybe i should call it gymnastics...
I made sure to attend the Ghost and Hot spots session, as well as the Haunted CNE walking tour, which featured about 150 people moving along at quite a brisk pace from the gates to Scadding Cabin.

i made sure to test drive a new vehicle, since people keep on telling me that the 1995 Aerostar should be replaced. awww...well, maybe...Scrap metal dealers keep leaving their cards on it, for some reason...

The parental units & I went to the CNE this afternoon. Saw the Superdogs (yes, I know, but I can never resist a cute critter ), the ice show (not a huge fan of skating, but gotta love routines set to U2 & GNR, classic or not I really really like Sweet Child of Mine), acrobats doing scary things on tall skinny poles, various singers (they kept popping up in weird places), some odd clown thing (I HATE clowns), a Mardi Gras parade, rock balancing demo, & sand sculptures. I didn't have it in me to stay til the bitter end & watch the evening show, even tho my folks were still full of energy (they're in their 70s going on 17!).
