I was at my jewelry making social club (or whatever ya wanna call it) & it ran late. Tonight's project involved a pretty stone called carnelian & silver chain. I mentioned that I just love playing with chains, since most of the necklaces I've made involve stones & links. Needless to say, I got teased.

The photo was taken at the entrance to Katlian Bay at the end of the road in Sitka. The whale is coming up to scoop up a mouthful of herring (the small fish seen at the surface around the kayak). The kayaker is a local Sitka Dentist. I haven't talked to him yet, but haven't heard of any injuries out of the experience.

Yep, that is me in the picture. Yep that is a whale that was just around the corner from the ferry terminal.
"Paddle really fast" is the only thing I could think of at the time..
Also thinking that I don't look like a herring, don't smell like a herring but with the same herring instinct of "get the hell out of the way of that big mouth!!"

Nope but thanks for the tip! The Costa Rican one I was looking for is called Salsa Lizano but it is not a salsa in the Tex-Mex sense, just the spanish for sauce sense, if that makes sense. Also not particularly hot, just tangy. More like a steak sauce or marinade, but it tastes amazing. Also, it costs less than $125 for 2 oz. Why would anyone buy 2 oz. of paste for 'only' $125?

The stuff normally costs between $500- 600 and when you win over $4000.00 at the slots who cares about $125.

I'm not much of a hot sauce afficionade (heat is good, but too much spice ruins the flavour for me, especially if cumin is involved). Might have to go exploring & pick up a bottle of something affordable after today's discussion.

this isnt a quote on your post, rather a post on your logo. guess the steelers are missing big ben. bad loss to the ravens yesterday. a last minute field goal doesnt help either especially after the broadcaster talking about them winning the superbowl the last time they went 4-0.

They played good enough to win. Add in the two field goals missed and they win. Reed has been suspect the last two years. Apparently when a team is getting back an impact player they tend to lose the game before that player comes back. The last time Big Ben came back after a short absence the Steelers sucked for a couple of games. If the Steelers had won it would have been a tough climb for the rest of the division to come back.

I like Dave's Insanity as a sauce, but that's about as hot as I can go.
The others I only use for cooking or mixing.

One of my favourite sauces is "Ass Kickin' Wasabi" it is great!
Habanero peppers and Wasabi Horseradish in a tomato sauce!

I have just the Habanero peppers version.
