One of my colleagues sent this email along to me. The only thing I have changed has been to remove the sender's name. Apparently this is a nightly occurrence and my colleague who has been in Canada from India less than 4 years wanted me to see this and share it with others!



India-Pakistan Border NIGHTLY Closing Ceremony

This is worth your time to watch. Well, we know there is no love lost between the two countries. I'm surprised they ever open the border. Both countries have nukes, and both countries have come close to war a number of times. If they do, it will be a different ballgame for the ENTIRE region.


The Wagah border is the only road linking India and Pakistan. And every night, the border is closed with a most unusual ceremony. Only 156 seconds long, it is one of the strangest things I've ever seen. Ceremonial garb and tradition from other places on the planet can be interesting and fun to watch.

Don't know about Linkin Park, but they did actually play "GOOD RIDDANCE (TIME OF YOUR LIFE)" - GREEN DAY at 10:43 PM yesterday, heard it with my own two ears. Not really "classic rock" either.

I think they do it as an informal "survey" of the listeners - Alex warned about the song about 2 mins in advance, and also gave out the Q telephone numbers, presumably for people to call in with opinions.

Thanks so much for all the help with the far-too-many winning words I've missed. I've been so busy/stressed lately even if I do hear the words I never remember them. My son's wedding is a week Saturday, my daughter just bought her first house and will move out in July. And because there isn't quite enough going on already, my husband and I decided now would be the perfect time to renovate. Idiots. I did get amazing tickets for the Bon Jovi/Kid Rock concert...so all is well.
