Hello from Sunny South Bend Indiana!
Last time I worked in Indiana it seemed like everyone from north of #7 were living there.

And don't any of you go and steal my bid away or I'll have to come for you!

    Thanks Wallie!!!
Attitash is the name of a ski resort in the White Mountains of New Hampshire where I ski. Have a timeshare there. 8 mountains to ski within 1 hours drive.

    Afternoon Folks.

Wonderful day. Leaves are done (at least until I look out the window again), dog's been taken for a run, I've figured out this new(old) coffee maker and now it's time to sit back and relax with a fine cuppa java and watch some football (and even though I've got two imports to choose from - I'm watching Wpg v Mtl. I really do prefer the Canadian game!!)

    Coffee Brewing Question for you:

My 12-cup coffee maker took one scoop of coffee per two cups of water. Using the same measuring scoop, in order to make a passable cuppa in the old 2-cup coffee maker, the ratio is exactly the opposite. While I'm now satisfied with the liquid coming out of the machine, I can't believe how fast I'm going through coffee.

My question: Why, when it's virtually the same brewing process in both machines, would the coffe to water ratio be so different??

I like to use coffee from either Costa Rica or Columbia and I use two table spoons of coffee for every eight oz. of water. With this ratio it is never weak.

I agree; and I'll add Jamaican Blue Mountain to that list. Even though it's generally considered a mild coffe, when you treble (or more) the recommended amount, it is NEVER bitter.

I didn't mention the size of my standard "scoop" in my original post for fear of being accused of making espresso instead of coffee!!
