hi Q friends!!! thanks for words and trivia!! I wasn't much help at all today...

I had a bit of a scare yesterday.... I was staying with my sister yesterday so that she wasn't alone over night after surgery (she's fine).... I was tethering my laptop with my cell phone (since sis doesn't have a computer or internet) and I thought I ended up with malware..... I got a window's pop up saying "Warning! Your computer is at risk of malware attacks. We recommend you check your system immediately. Press OK to start the process now.....

thank goodness I didn't click ok.... I disconnected my laptop from my phone (thus my sudden departure last night....) All morning I thought I was infected, but the IT guy reassured me that I did the right thing by disconnecting my connection and not clicking ok...

we received a warning about this in the summer and I guess somehow I must have remembered that it looked suspicious.... anyway... I am virus free!!

Do not worry about that "Warning" Pop-up.
The Scam there is to make you think you have a Virus or Malware.
It opens a new Window and then looks like it is running a Test/Scan.
Then it asks you to click OK to clean it, but it WON'T... unless you Buy the Full Version.
It does Install something that tends to be difficult to remove (at times).

When that "Warning" Window pops up (that looks like it is running a Scan)... just Close it.
I see them all the time and just ignore it.

Thanks for the WW & codes... a real help on work days. Brimacombe(Oshawa Ski Club) opens Saturday. Working but with snow on Friday & Sunday I took a gamble & booked Wednesday off for my 1st ski day of the year.

James Doohan was an artillery Captain in WW2. Shortly after landing at Juno Beach on D-Day, he lost the finger when he was shot by a German machine gunner at night. He took seven bullets altogether, in the leg, chest and hand.

He played a hero on TV but he was the real thing in life.

Good evening all

First I want to tell everyone your a swell bunch your heartfelt thoughts. prayers and wishes do much to bring someone down up again, much appreciated.

To update all, tomorrow my mother arrives and we then depart for my Uncles funeral in Elliot Lake, minimum 7 hour drive depending on weather. Funeral is Saturday at noon, afterwards we are then heading to Cornwall another 10 hour drive to see my Aunt, latest on her is she is in serious but stable condition.

With all this going on, I just had to have something else, tonight around 4:30, the wife and I went out to grab a bite and while eating I suddenly heard this crunch sound, turns out my bottom molar, decided to pick this time to crumble. I then called my dentist and he managed to squeeze me in before closing and fixed my tooth. This turns out to be a good thing as my dentist was starting 3 weeks off on Saturday.

Well enough about my dismal life and thanks for the kind words, will rep today and hopefully will be back online in another couple of days, be good all and enjoy your weekend!
