I always talk to the bunny that comes to visit me. Funny thing is upon its first visit I did the exact same thing as argo and went to check if it was alive because it didn't move for a couple of hours. Now I see it in my backyard at dusk. I think it's the same rabbit that's been coming for the last two years now. But all it does is sit and stare.

During the big blackout, my power was out 13 hours and my mom's was out 22. Unfortunately most of the food she had spoiled. We had no problem cooking as we had our propane BBQ. The best part was actually talking to neighbours and meeting some that I had never seen before (because we had only lived in the house a year). Everybody was outside in their front yards talking, trying to figure out what was going on...and there was nothing else to do. The worst part was trying to get my kid who was afraid of the dark calm enough to go to sleep. Between that, the heat and a nursing baby there was no sleep to be had that night.

We were pretty lucky that we didn't really lose too much. Since we went up north, the deep freezer at home didn't get opened, so most things stayed frozen. We only had to throw away a few things in our fridge freezer (and fridge).
The neighbour thing is fun... we have two planned street parties each year.... one the week-end after labour day and the other just before Christmas - we sing carols on the court and inevitably end up moving the party into someone's house.... it's great.... nobody has to drive so everyone can be silly and drink!!

Thanks to pipes for the note that there are a couple of more sites to click on, under Bonus Sites. Yippee, now we get an extra 2000 points each day.
Thank you so much for the thanks for the recaps. It`s my pleasure. I`m just so happy that anyone finds it useful.
Hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine today. I managed to get a few rays, in between seeing Glengarry Glen Ross at the theatre.
I had quite the adventure during the blackout. Went to Casino Rama to see Huey Lewis with my Mom - we took the bus & there was all sorts of construction along the way, so any lights that were out, I blamed on the careless workers. It took forever to get up there, so we were in a mad rush to get to the venue & grabbed not so tasty hot dogs along the way (instead of the nice food at the restaurant we'd planned). There we were, waiting to be let in, when they finally announced that Huey Lewis was not going to play. Boy, was I annoyed. I was convinced it had something to do with the SARS scares that had kept a whole whack of musical acts away & was still being talked about. So, we spent a half hour gambling, got bored, & went outside for some fresh air. We spent the next 4 hours sitting outside, while we waited for the bus to take us home. I tried calling my Dad a few times to let him know what was going on with us, but the line was busy. My Mom had some colourful words to say about my Dad likely leaving the phone off the hook. At this point, we had *no* clue that there was a major blackout going on. I didn't discover that there was a blackout, until we were well on our way home on the bus, when a dj mentioned it on the radio the driver was listening to. That's when I learned that casinos have their own generators - must never let anything happen to prevent people from gambling. Boy, did I feel bad about trashing poor Huey Lewis (his plane couldn't land).
Night all.

I have a friend who for at least the last 15 years have had rabbits nesting in their back yard under a pile of branches under their pine trees. their backyard is not that large depth wise but because its well fenced in and has low lying pines the rabbits feel safe to have and raise their youhg their every year. Also some of the off spring must have returned because I don't believe rabbits can live that long outdoors. The rabbits must really like the spot and have bad memories because one year he ran through their nest(?) with the lawnmower killing a number of their young but they still come back every year.
