Just back in the house after enjoying some beautiful sunshine and found The Last Waltz on tv. What a classic. I forgot how much I love it.
I'm surprised other bands haven't done something like this. Martin Scorsese captured that farewell concert amazingly.
Soooo, if it were to be done again with another band, who do you think would make a good topic and who do you think would be good artists to accompany them on stage?
The Who? Too many farewell tours already to be taken seriously. hahah
I'm thinking AC/DC would be a good one. Brian Johnson's voice is just about done and I think touring may be at an end.
The Stones would be another good one. Think of all the artists that have been associated to the Stones over the years, from the 60's to the present. Could be one hell of a show!

That sounds like a great way to spend a day. The Last Waltz does exactly what Tad01 says - captures The Band & the essence of the time & space that they were in at that time. How tragic what became of some of those brilliant guys.
The Who.....title for next tour. 'The Who can't remember if we said farewell on our last tour....so Farewell for Real!'
The Rolling Stones Octagenarian Tour is already in the works.
AC/DC - I think you are on track with that evaluation. We don't want him to ever have to wear a diaper under his schoolboy uniform.
Talk about longevity though.

Ah, but considering it was 24 years ago, it is amazing how many of them are still touring. Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Neil Diamond, Emmy Lou Harris, Bob Dylan, Ron Wood, Neil Young....

Got Buddy eating again (hope he holds it down). I tried a sample bag I got from the pet store and he likes it. So I guess it's just Puppy Chow that he doesn't like. I'd buy a big bag of the premium stuff and switch him over. I was only giving him Puppy Chow because that's what his previous owner was feeding him.
Just because something isn't right for YOU doesn't mean it's wrong.

HI Everyone!
Back from a lawnbowling torunament, lost, but it was fun anyways!
Went to the CNE yesterday and to The Molson Ampitheatre to see the Ray Lamantagne/David Gray concert. My daughter really likes Ray but we didn't know who David Gray was who headlined and people seemed to really like, not sure why!!!, not really my style but anyways.
I feel so sorry for those miners in Chile who have been stuck down there for weeks and they say they won't be able to rescue them for a few more monthsA 15 cm. hole and 2 others are lifelines delivering some supplies. Its a real challenge for them to keep their sanity down there!
