Before I leave for a bike ride just wondering if anyone knows a reasonable place to call to inspect your furnance. Ours is not turning on at the moment so we'll have to call someone in. They'll probably charge hundreds to get it going. Anyone know of any place?

We use sears home heating but we also buy the furnace plan which covers the annual cleaning and parts and labour if anything goes wrong with your furnace. Costs about 230 bucks a year but peace of mind is well worth it and one service call will cover what you pay for the years service.
