Glad you had fun at the Halloween Haunt Robyn. Now that you have conquered that one maybe you should try The Powerhouse of Terror! It takes place at what used to be the Lakeshore Psychiatric Centre that was shut down in 1979. It's split into two buildings, The Asylum and Shady Acres. The Asylum has a psychiatric ward, you make your way through darkness into a cryptkeeper's house, escape into a jungle and go through a swamp to a graveyard and come out through a corn maze. The Shady Acres building is a maze of darkness - except for the clowns. There's about 200 people making it a creepy place!


I haven't been there and won't be - I'd be scared out of my wits. I was just reading about it!

Tough Love

Most people nowadays think it improper to discipline children, so I have tried other methods to control my kids when they have had one of 'those moments.'

Since I'm a pilot, one that I have found very effective is for me to just take the child for a flight in the plane during which I say nothing and give the child the opportunity to reflect on his or her behavior.

I don't know whether it's the steady vibration from the engines, or just the time away from any distractions such as TV, video games, computer, iPod, etc.

Either way, my kids usually calm down and stop misbehaving after our flight together. I believe that eye to eye contact during these sessions is an important element in achieving the desired results.

I've included a photo below of one of my sessions with my son, in case you would like to use the technique.

Tomorrow is my mammogram follow-up appointment and ultrasound and on thursday I go to Toronto Western to the Aneurysm clinic. Busy week. I hope to catch up soon but somehow I doubt it.
