After the blown engine, Jimmie finished just ahead of Jeff in 27th & Jeff in 28th. This now puts Greg in the points lead, 21 points ahead of his team mate Matt Kenseth. Jimmie falls to 4th, 28th points back, Jr moves up to 3rd.
Next weeks race is at Bristol Tennessee, a 7pm start. A short track, beating & banging.

The displays and events have increased in the years... When I first started going to the race the big thrill was going through the Winston tent for a pack of smokes or chew. Now there are manufacturer tents, displays and play areas for kids.

These young boys who help push the wheelchairs up the switchback are all from the local football team and this is part of the rookies training - initiation, they usually have a senior player with them to help out. Even after the race and on Monday the community can be seen at the major exit point holding up thank you race fans and waving with big smiles. Wonderful place to go for a race and they are so friendly and welcoming everywhere you go.

Funny story...
A few years back just before the switchback a gentleman was waiting for a push up the ramp so one of our guys offered to push him. So on hops his young grandson and off goes Mike pushing the wheelchair all the way to the top, 20 switchbacks at least. At the top Mike is just drenched in sweat, puffing and panting. He says it was tougher than he thought it would be just as the gentleman realized that, yup!!! he had left the brakes on the wheelchair!!!
