Thread: Toy Story Un-brag...HELP?!?
-

I've JUST joined SC (love it!!!) and I can't believe that my very first post is an un-brag, but I'm hoping for help!
Today, after reading of all the great deals people are getting on the Toy Story movies, I headed out to pick up my own copies. Went to Future Shop on my lunch break, and spent over 20 minutes with THREE sales people and a manager. First, they didn't think they could price match Zellers, then they couldn't understand the flyer and insisted that the price to match was the $24.99 regular price...once I finally convinced them that the sale price was $19.99 without a Trade-and-Save, they were all set to ring in the sale. Then I pulled out the coupons...and it went downhill again. Called for backup again, got more salespeople and managers involved, discovered that the coupons WERE recognized in the system, so it all looked good, but then another manager came rushing to the front of the store to tell me they USED to accept the coupons, but they don't anymore. Grrrrr. They seemed shocked when I left without the movies.
So off to Zellers I went...and found the movies with an enormous sign over them saying that the flyer was a mis-print, and that the regular price is $29.99, the sale is $24.99, and the trade-and-save price is $19.99. This further irked me, and as a result, I STILL don't own the movies!!! Does anyone know of anywhere OTHER THAN Zellers or Future Shop where I might find these movies for a great price?!?

I had the same problem at Best Buy with the coupons (although they were willing to price match to the $14.99
)
Anyhoo, hopped on over to Wal-Mart. They price matched to the $19.99 (even apologized for not being able to do the $14.99) and took the coupons for both-no problems. The cashier was even impressed.
Both Toy Story Movies cost me $24.78 with tax-less than what Wal-Mart has for one of the movies ($29.99 I believe)

I don't care too much about quality on movies... I just watch them on line for free, or if I do want something original I buy it used.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about!! I posted about this in the shopping talk forum. I tried at Walmart and they told me it was either coupons or pm, not both. So I contacted head office and have not heard back from them. So I tried Future Shop because I KNOW others have managed to get them with pm and coupons and I had a very similar experience to yours. Three different managers were asked and all told me I could either pm or use the coupons, not both. This makes absolutely no sense, as they lose the money from pm, not from coupons, yet they are more than willing to pm. So frustrating. I was very upset about this. Why are stores within the same chain so different in their policies?!?!?! I then went to Zellers and to found out it was a misprint, so know I am debating whether or not to go back to Zellers and just get them for $14.99($24.99-$10 coupon) each. However, this seems quite high for two kids movies ($29.98) for both. This whole situation has me very angry!!
