ExpiredI got my first SCOP today (i posted it in the brag section)
Pampers wipes scanned at 13.97, they were 8.97 in the flyer, i took my receipt to customer service, asked them to apply scop, they refunded me over $15 and got the wipes for free.
went back again tonight to see if i could get another box, same thing happened, i asked cashier to apply SCOP, she didnt know how, called a manger and the manger said SCOP only applies if the item is marked a certain price and it scans at a different price and since this item was on sale, they only apply the sale price?
This is not right, is it?This thread is currently associated with: Pampers

Not right. You are right! Google the SCOP and read about it... annoys me more than anything when stores voluntarily agree to abide by SCOP in their stores, then play dumb and try to do less than what SCOP calls for. If they don't want to do SCOP, then why say you do!? AH!

Just a thought....If you can print off the SCOP info and keep it with you then you can pull it out and show them....

This is a copy/paste from the SCOP document (see the underlined part)...
1.1 On a claim being presented by the customer, where the scanned price of a product at checkout is higher than the price displayed in the store or than advertised by the store, the lower price will be honoured; and <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
(a) if the correct price of the product is $10 or less, the retailer will give the product to the customer free of charge; or
(b) if the correct price of the product is higher than $10, the retailer will give the customer a discount of $10 off the corrected price.
This document says 'advertised by the store' which in my opinion includes flyer prices. If there is an error in the flyer, they are supposed to post a correction at the front door and at where the products are located. Once the store posts a correction notice, then further SCOPs on that item don't apply.
However it was explained to me different by a Store Manager of Extra Foods. He says that the SCOP goes only by the shelf price (or posted sale shelf price) of the item, not the flyer. If the display doesn't show the sale price sign, then they don't have to abide by the SCOP (even if it's in the flyer). He said the SCOP is a 'scanning' policy not a sale price policy. They are trying to check and ensure their UPC scanning systems are working correctly. If they forget to post a sale sign, but it's in the flyer, they only have to give it to you for the flyer sale price, not for FREE (i.e it's not a SCOP).
He said that this is how 'all' stores interpret the SCOP document...but I don't agree, and I told him so...why would the SCOP document even talk about 'correction notices to flyers' if it didn't apply to flyer prices? He looked at me like I just did the Linda Blair Exorcist neck spin..LOL!
If you go by his description, then in your case, if the item on the shelf was displayed as a 'sale price' but it scanned wrong, then you get the SCOP, but only because it was listed on the shelf as a sale.Join Swagbucks: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/jojoskelowna

what jojos said! And if you're there and they refuse, just tell them you'll be reporting to head office and the governing body for SCOP. I believe they may get fined if they refuse to honour it.

You CAN do that, can't you? Like as a party trick?
As I've said before... it's always fun to help them get up to speed! Especially if it's a manager.

The best idea would probably be to call and report the store. A quick google search brought up this number: 1-866-499-<WBR>4599
You could even write the number down and call while in the store. The store has to abide by the policy... it really doesn't matter how the manager 'interprets' it. hahaSign up for Swag Bucks and earn free gift cards. PM me for sign-up codes and tips!

I have gotton a lot of free stuff because of SCOP. Just the other day I got a hair care product free. Sounds like you should have got the pampers for free. What I don't understand is why they didn't immediately adjust the pampers to the correct price. When this happened to me the other day, they changed the price pretty quick!!! Normally, you're only allowed one SCOP for one item.
