I use the same for all our clothes, Gain or Tide, which ever I get the better deal on.

lol robyn! Losing socks ALWAYS happens to me.As well as keeping socks clean,holy, i don't know how any toddlers socks survive past around 3-6 months for both those reasons. i constantly am soaking them in oxyclean,i even try keeping the floors pretty clean.

I've always used ivory snow. I've been told it is the ONLY good one gentle enough for baby clothes.Then i tried baby purex,that wasn't too bad however i can't find any in the HE brand now that we have a new washer. She has so many clothes and i just seperate them into her own pile(s). No big deal in my books. Actually it is easier to sort cuz i just throw hers in her own hamper and throw them in.

I really think someone should make more brands for baby clothes specifically.The only affordable one out there is baby purex.

I also used Ivory Snow with my first and now use Purex Baby with #2. For fabric softner I use the downy ultra white lilac, the cream coloured bottle. I just really love the smell of it. Just last week I noticed that Life Brand (SDM) has their own baby detergent which was WAYYYY cheaper and looks suspiciously like Purex Baby- might also be worth a shot.

I use ivory snow until she was 18 months, now she gets he tide treatment with our clothes. I always used softner, never had problems..........

Except for me. I use Downey, Snuggle, and I am fine....tried the Kirkland stuff, and broke into a rash. Hell, I can't use Jergens soap either, so I think it's just something in it I can't handle, so I try not to mess with brands too much. Don't mess with what won't make me itch!

I never used anything different than what I already used for DH and I. Powdered Cheer when #1 was a baby and then for some reason I switched to Tide regular powder before #2 so that's what he got all his stuff washed with.

I also used liquid fabric softener, every load. And bleach without double rinsing their cloth diapers and no reactions here whatsoever.

(*May not be the 'best' parent to be asking as I was also the same parent who fed her children homogenized milk at six months of age *gasp!* but they both survived no worse for the wear and apparently not lacking brain cell growth from lack of 'essential fatty acids' as #1 is the highest academic in his class LOL)

I use Market America's Snap Laundry detergent. A little bit on the pricey side, but I like it because it doesn't irritate sensitive skin and it's all chemical-free http://www.marketamerica.com/corporate/topproducts-6200/snap-laundry-detergent.htm

i used regular detergent and regular fabric softener. nothing fancy! the clothes turned out fine for my kids. no reactions, no allergies.

i'm the one who is pretty sensitive with everything, that's why i have to take allergy meds for my hives that can get really bad.

I could have wrote this post myself! I agree, I use just regular detergent and softener. I'm the one with the crazy allergies (thankfully not to laundry soaps... just my cats).

Use always Chemical free detergents and remember wash yours baby clothes with dettol or savlon.
With dettol yours baby clothes always germs free

I use Nature Clean on our clothes and on our cloth diapers http://www.naturecleanliving.com/ Hypoallergenic and non-toxic, and its a Canadian company too! I usually buy it at Loblaws (in the health food section), but have noticed that Zellers and Metro are carrying it now too.

I've used Sunlight Green a bit lately too - LOL, I haven't been able to pass up the great deals with the sales and $2 off coupons! I don't use it on the diapers, but it works great on the clothes.

As for static, I gave up dryer sheets when my son was born, and I have to say, I don't miss them at all! I imagine it depends on the climate of where you live, but I don't find my clothes have any static at all... which is funny, because I used dryer sheets for years thinking that I needed them! Sometimes my clothes are a bit static-y when they come out of the dryer (particularly if there's any fleece in the load), but by the time they're folded or hung up, the static has completely dissapated.

I usually use Purex Baby which I like, but started using the SDM brand. Looks the same, smells the same, seems to work the same. I got 5 jugs @ 2.99 each last redemption day. Almost as much as 1 of Ivory Snow!

Just regular tide... like for our clothes and both kids never had a reaction... no fabric softener or bounce sheet in the dryer

i started off using ivory snow for my lil one, but changed over to baby purex on my last shopping trip since the store didn't carry it...no problems as of yet & cheaper than ivory.
