I saw that there is a Surrey meet coming up, there are better chances of me going there.. if im not shy or feeling all coupony .. (is that even a word) lol and want to meet fellow SCers..
At first I was wondering why is the meeting place not in Guildford mall since there is an LD there where we could go shop, but then I remembered that some people are going to travel up to 3 zones to get to Surrey so , now I get it.. but I would really LOVE if it was in guildford.. I could use a bit of exercise since its near ma crib! lmao
There is going to be one in Surrey I think next month?
There is a tentative meeting post somewhere on here......
Hi everybody. Just found out that I have to work Saturday. I really wanted to make it, but I can't. So mcminsen and momofkali will have big shoes to fill this weekend to cover for me. The meeting is still a go with at least 5 not including myself that are attending. Should fare well. If the boss asks me to work for the next meeting, I will tell him I am booked every other Saturday. I just started this job last month so I don't want to say no yet.
awww too bad you can't make it !!!
It's okay. the meeting will still be a go. You will just have to keep in touch with momofkail and mcminsen to see how they will stick out in the foodcourt. I have 3 bin drops on Saturday morning..the first of which is at 8am in North Vancouver, so I might or might not be done by 11am/12. By that time you guys will be pretty much done. By the time I drive to Brentwood from North Van...it isn't long, but most of you will have departed. I was really looking forward to getting some specific coupons too. I'll be there 2 weeks from then though.
Missed the first meeting as I was away. Was really sick for about a week or so and not going online, but feeling better now and just trying to catch up with work & that awful annual "April 30th" deadline. Will love to go if I don't have to work. Perhaps, McMinsen you can pm me on how to set-up the envies or what to put in them. You saw how big my stash was. At least if I meet you @ Brentwood I won't get a prkg tkt. Ha. Ha.
Very important!!!! LD @ Brentwood price match quantity limit is 1 per price matched item. The CSRs at LD can be really crabby too, especially the older ones (more women than men). However, I asked at Lougheed Mall and they allow you to get more than 1 and same with the LD @ Kingsway near Nelson. I think both stores are okay if you're price matching & buying say 3 or 4 from the impression that I got, I just think they don't want people buying 6 or 8 or 10 of the price matched item, which agree, especially if I'm going to be stacking coupons.
Oh well, if I can't make it to the mtg, I'm sure I know where most of you will be - CSR desk @ LD.:lolsign:
The mall has a few lrg stores like Zellers, there's also a scratch & save event at Sear's this week. I sure hope I can make it. Heck, what a fun day it would be if I didn't have to work - coupons, shopping and then getting ready to watch the Canucks.
Well everybody...last minute change of plans again. As everyone who has read my threads knows I was working on the highway and only recently last month started local work. Well the local work isn't turning out too well to say the least. It seems that although I can drive a truck no problem, I am not very mechanically inclined when it comes to dropping bins. As a matter of fact I had an incident at the beginning of April with a bin and now today I was in North Vancouver up on Rufus drive (1726 to be exact if anyone lives near the area and wants to check out my handiwork)...I had a bin to drop with 11.5 tonnes of 3/4 Crushed rock in it. Was supposed to be just a regular drop except that the bin my boss had me put on the truck was not designed for the big truck, it was designed with the smaller single axle. So I was lifting the bin to do a drop and the bin wasn't coming down off the rollers when it should have been. I tried again by dropping the bin back on the truck and pushed the unlocking mechanism and lifted it again...well it wouldn't seem to drop so I inched it further and further up...next thing whoosh, bang, and the sound of heavy rain (when all the rocks come pouring out)...so the damage was a hole in the person's blacktop driveway from the bin pulling down so fast off the truck, and the weight of all the rocks combined that rushed out of the bin went through the garage. So the boss said see ya. Said my $4500 ($3000 this one and $1500 at the beginning) in damage was a new record. I know none of you know me personally, but I take pride in driving and can drive a truck and trailer or a truck and 2 trailers like nobodies business because realistically all you have to do is drive the damn thing straight for a day or two or four and back up occassionally, but this bin business is totally different). So most likely I will be there Saturday.
Are you guys going shopping at LD after trading?
Would love too, but unless it is going to be free...my wife would slay me until I have another job to keep her happy now...and again...
Man that sucks.
My husband drives truck and I wince everytime he tells me about a ding.
I will get him to keep his ears open on any jobs. What licence do you have? I'm hip with the lingo
