I use Atkins as a quick way to loose weight. Usually I maintain my weight quite well, but when some of those pounds sneak up on me, I find Atkins works for me (short term only).

Actually, I lost 70 lbs on Atkins, after I had my daughter.
And, contrary to discussion here, you DO eat carbs... you begin at under 20 carbs, (which you can get from veggies etc) 20 isn't NONE.... but, to each their own
It worked for me, and I loved it. My mother tried it, and hated it. (She LOVES her potatoes too much
So, I guess, it works, if you do it right, and eat healthy... mind you, just eating healthy and excersising is a perfectly acceptable way to lose weight too
My sister (who is a registered dietician/nutritionist) thought atkins was ridiculous, and was completely shocked at how well I did

Atkins is only another diet. I use it maybe once a year to shed some quick weight (for the bikini u know). The best way to deal with weight is just eat right. Canada's food guide has been around for years.
