Aww, thanks guys. I think it was easier on me the first time because I had my second cat to come home to and still look after. You all know what a mama bear I am - and I know that soon I'll be enjoying the happy and silly memories instead of throwing myself a pity party.

I'm sure I've posted this on here elsewhere, but I recently said to a girlfriend that "Being strong isn't not crying...it's knowing you've got to do something that's going to make you cry, and doing it anyway, because it's the right thing to do."

umm ok so I am about to wet myself, I was just picked to be in LG fashion week!!!!!!

Soo now I need to figure out how to get from union station to exhibition place...the country girl needs help figuring out the streetcars (I think I can only take the 509?) I can't for the life of me figure out where I would get on that streetcar at union station??? I have only ever taken the subway from union station...and I'm pretty clueless with public transportation since I don't have any of that here!

Take the GO train to Exhibition or go through Union to the subway station then the streetcar platform (Queen's Quay, follow the signs but some of them are just on cardboard signs, so you want the side where the clothes store and bag store are not past the gates) and take the #509

I'm drawing a blank on ever seeing a streetcar platform is this in the bottom of union station? where they have the go terminals and all the restaurants or am I in the totally wrong spot?

Also another dumb question: If I am taking the streetcar do I have to have ttc tokens or will they take change and is it still $3?

There is a streetcar platform in union that you access through the same place as the subway, which means you have to go outside from the Go trains area, although there is a covered walk. This is the main TTC entrance that is manned so either tokens or change is okay. The streetcar platform is hard to find, but follow the signs and ask people.

Getting on the streetcar from the street you can pay either change or tokens too, as long as you have exact change.

Edit to add - FYI the streetcar platform is underground.

This is so true! And this is such a hard decision because what is best for your pet isn't really what's best for you

And, DH wants to never be without a dog. We are planning to get a 2nd as soon as we have a yard or larger space - the idea being we will always have two.

ok I know how to get to the ttc entrance I have taken the subway from union before so ok I can get there now I know the general area I have to be in lol...I didnt know the platform was underground...yeah I will find it...once you pay and get in you can't really go too far can you? lol

ok, if you know how to get to the ttc, just make sure you turn right and not left and pay there because the streetcars are on that side, there are signs to the streetcars from there

I am very glad this day is coming to a close.

Today I had to take my cat to the vet and have her put to sleep. She was ancient by cat standards, and had declined rapidly over the past few days; so, even though I know it was the right decision, it was still really hard to have to do it. Especially since she always hated the vet's office - and, true to form, her feisty side took over and she hissed and growled at the staff as soon as she realized where she was. That made it even tougher for me - because I know her last few minutes were unpleasant and she was scared because she was there.

It takes an awful lot to make me cry, but I was a wreck. I don't think having another pet is in my future any time soon. It's hard to believe that there's no cat in my house for the first time in 20 years (her "brother" was five when I found her as a scrawny stray).

Aww... screamy.. So sorry that you went through having to put your pet down...

I hope you feel better now...

And very, very squirmy, and chatty now... Screams a lot... I'd like to name him the new Mr. Screamy now...

The trip was alright... Hong Kong part was fun, and the first week in Singapore was rather fun... But the second week was a nightmare... I had the biggest fight with my mom, complete with her cursing me, pushing and pulling at me while Ethan was still in my arms, and locking me in her house, asking me to jump out of the window if I want to leave the house. *sigh*

I was terribly hurt and upset with my mom... The last week back home has been good, in terms of dealing with the aftermath of the episode. I still haven't spoken with my mom since Sep 24... Granted, I did call her a mad woman and asked her to shut up as she was screaming at me... But I still can't find it in me to want to take the first step to call her to see how she is doing.

I am just so disappointed that she disrespected all my wishes regarding Ethan's eating habits, wanting to feed him brown rice cereal, water, and jarred food. Anyhow, Ethan got stomach flu in the last week of our vacation, and was vomitting, had diarrhea, and coughing...

Okay.. this has been a novel already... Don't want to scare you guys away...

Can't wait to see you guys... I think Ethan misses all his Toronto aunties!
