Coupon Finds in Red Deer

Last night when I found Alberto some place in Red Deer or maybe outside Red Deer, maybe Calgary I go to Calgary every second day, or maybe I happened to be in Edmonton... I dont know where I found it. I forgot to all those lurkers who just wait to go and get all of them.. I was looking at it and there was a lot of it left and I was thinking to myself, should I just take everything so other people who are greedy like that can see what it feels like finding no coupons but than again I am like, I cant do it. I know I wont use that many coupons and I cant bring myself to throw out a coupon. And Alberto coupons expire Dec 31st 2011...

OK SERIOUSLY, whoever goes out and takes all the coupons stop it. We would all like some. I went to SDM tonight to get a gift card for a trade I am doing and walked up and down the isles just to check out to see if there are any coupons I was just there 2 days ago and there was no new ones, so I didnt hold my breath and when I got to the toothpaste shelf, I see there is a coupon pad there and NO COUPONS on both sides of it. Like come ON. I was just there 2 days ago, so it cant be that we all had a chance at some coupons, this is someone who got there and took them all. Gee... let us all have some. I use that toothpaste like crazy, its the only one I will use and coupons for it would really help me save money on item I actually do need.

Im gonna hope to get the same coupon some place else. They also had Alberto $1 off coupon in SDM but of course none left, however in Safeway North there was some left there. So, run before this person(s) goes there too and collects all of them like an asshole.

^ The very reason why some of us have stopped posting some things publicly and just share amongst people we know that won't take advantage. Cuz ya, some take advantage and yeah... act like a bumhole!!!!!!!!

So to any bumhole reading.. you know who you are... grow some maturity and self respect and finally learn the world doesn't revolve around you!!!!!!

I saw a cardboard left attached to a shelf at Shoppers Drug Mart Village Mall last night from what I guess was L'Oreal Studioline coupon.I was going to post but I don't know what the coupon amount was or what is for.I wasn't even going to grab even one coupon for myself.I'm allergic to mousse,gel and hairsprays and I don't like L'Oreal Studioline shampoo or conditioners.I noticed L'Oreal Studioline is on sale for $3.99 starting tomorrow Saturday and nobody who actually buys and uses the product will be able to use the coupon since there is none left.No matter what Extreme Couponing teachers tell you 99.9% of coupons will not make the items free or nearly free.Just take what amount of coupons you can use yourself then leave some for others please.

In the past 2 days I have been to Sobey's South & North, SOF East & North, Safeway P-O-C, SDM, and Co-Op DeerPark & Downtown. Guess what? NOT ONE COUPON LEFT ON THE PADS IN ALL BUT ONE STORE The few straggler coupons were useless ones & there were empty cardboard backings are far as the eye could see.

In the WHOLE TIME I have been doing this in this area I have never, ever, EVER seen something like this. They just came out. And they end up being gone in a week or less?!?!

Stop being so freakin' greedy. You are not the only one in the area who coupons & the rest of us would like a couple!! It's childish, selfish, rude & plain disrespectful to the coupon community. Take what YOU.....YOURSELF.....will use - not what you think you & your friend down the road, and your mailman, and your dog, and what you can SELL on eBay etc, etc could use......this is getting to the point of ridiculous.

I realize that there are a LOT of couponers in the area now, but when I can't find a simple $0.50 coupon and there ends up being only one or two people in the area that have multiples for trade.....it ticks me off.

I've resorted to pretty much trading on SC exclusively for the coupons that I want - and trading for GC's or stamps - instead of wasting my time & fuel driving around, dragging my kids in & out of stores to find ZIP. Ugh. I'm pretty sure I'm still saving money + my sanity in the end. But it would still be nice to be able to pick up a couple when I'm in the store doing my grocery shopping.......just sayin'. Enough already.

Thank you both! I say, why not take just few, heck take 10 if you wish to trade some. But as long as you leave some for the next person and I know for a fact that they add 4 pads, 2 on each side everytime new coupon comes out. The ones in SDM tonight had 1 pad on each side and none left. Makes me angry when there are gready people. And yes, we should from now on just PM each other and say when we see a good coupon or new coupon out there instead of writting it here. But like someone said before, there is RD facebook group and as soon as someone posts there all the coupons are gone. This is why I refuse to join that group because unlike them I leave coupons for the next person. And I do not want to be assosiated with bunch of assholes. Not saying all of them are like that, but obviously someone in that group is person that is taking all the coupons. So, no, I will not be in the same group as that person, thank you.

Oh and that cardboard you saw attached to L'Oreal it is actually Alberto's stuff. Its for $1 off any Alberto product. None left there of course but I will email you where they have them still.

I fixed my post.I was back at Shoppers today and noticed it was Alberto.Don't like Alberto either so would left the coupons for others.

The reality of this guys...is that people are actually spending money to BUY these coupons, and this is what has to stop. If there was no market, people wouldnt jack all the coupons in every store.
Ive talked to a couple of you about it before, posted it on here, even got ragged out on FB for it....but we have to stop the market for this behaviour, and if that means PM'ing as opposed to posting, well so be it. I love coming on here, and FB for deals. It truly has become a part of my every day life, and I would hate to see it go. But the reality is that someone is out there to make money, just like any other scam artist. They dont care that we , or complain. All they care about is that they can sell their coupons on ebay/kijiji and make a profit.

I REFUSE to buy these coupons, nor will I trade with some who has "20x" tearpad coupon on their trade list. Thats my personal way to help stop this stuff, because its just not worth it.

Since the cold season started, I haven't been able to go out and look for coupons and it is very frustrating to find empty cardboard when I do have time to coupon hunt.

Initially when i would see so many of those empty cardboard tearpads, i would just think i missed out because of them being there for a few days or something. And when i hear so many people on here talking about all the great coupon deals they get i always think........ where in the heck are all these people finding all these coupons. Then I see some of the brag pictures people post, great deals but however are they doing that without having tons upn tons of coupons. Coop last week I found ONE coupon. Sobeys (bower location) found ONE Coupon. Maybe I am just bad at finding these coupons or maybe they just don't exist or maybe people are just clearing them out. Just like when I see pictures of how some people have like a Kazillion smartsources or P&G flyers and I can never find a single copy. It is getting rather frustrating. I mean it is nice to see such great deals people are getting, just wish Red Deer would get more coupons ( maybe then I could find some too). Guess my message to others that might be reading this is: please just take the coupons you plan on using. if you know your not going to buy the product, then please leave the coupon for those who will. Thanks ^_^

I hear yah ladies. I can never find any either Last year there was always lots to go around. I would pick up 1 or 2 every other day in the store. For example Sobey's. If I saw a great coupon I would grab 2. The I would go back to Sobey's the next day and grab some more groceries or milk etc. and grab another 2. Anyway you could go back a week later and there would still be some. So everyone was getting a chance at them. Sad that it is not this way anymore.

Sometimes that is me with a lot. But in no way am I depriving others or being malicious. I give/trade with ease. Co-workers mom works (altho, not sure she still does, hmm) at The Advocate and gives me extras. I also found a recycle bin that the owner delivers the Calgary herald, so recycle morning at 6:30am on my way to the bus stop, I collect the leftovers. But even with that help... some inserts I get none or one, lol. Depends.

If I compare NOW to... a year ago... as far as coupons, inserts, etc go... HUGE difference. It's horrible. *sigh* lol

Me too I actually just had 10 inserts for one of the smart source but thats because I traded. Also, I am able to find lot of inserts with family and friends who do not use them at all. So, they give them to me. When I see photo of people with lot of items that they used great coupons for it, I dont think they just went to the store and grabbed all the coupons but rather that they might've traded for more.... either way, both can be true... some people might be grabbing all of them and than bragging about it. I just dont think any of us here do that, people that do stupid stuff like that are lurkers you will never see them post here, they are selfish and only think of themselves to even have balls to come and write here, they are cowards.

Went to SOF north today, asked CS if they're planning on keeping all coupons at the desk & that Mike guy (think he's a manager) said he wants to bc he's seen certain couponers taking whole pads & doesn't think it's fair to the rest Shauna was up there (she's like my gave cashier, really awesome & friendly) and she asked if they were selling them on eBay or what was the deal? Lol all I said was there is a group that's just come on the scene & ever since the more seasoned couponers have had a really difficult time finding good coupons bc they're all gone which was never the case before (like for the last 3 years for sure). Anyhow they have the $5WUB5 Kraft up there & were kind enough to let me have 4 (I used 2 today YAY!) I guess the last time they had them ALL the pads were empty in a matter of 2 days. It doesn't bother me at all if they decide to keep them at CS as means everyone now has a chance to get some new coupons, although I think it'd be good if they put a sign by the products letting customers know there's a coupon & where to find it.

Uhmmm I dont think its fair to keep them behind the desk either. I am never going to go there and ask for them. Its coupons, they are supposed to be at the product not behind the desk, seriously, unless you ask every time for it how are you supposed to know there are coupons for certain product? Are they expecting us to go to them every time we are there. Imagine, I shop at least 4 times a week for food items... or if I dont buy anything I just go to check out the prices and or to see if there are any new coupons, imagine, if I had to go to them every time I am there?? Are they crazy??? I think I might send this question to HO and see what they have to say, coupons are meant to be at the product that is what their purpose is and any manufacturer that sends them wants them used otherwise if people dont know about them, they will go to waste and that means they wasted that much paper printing them and their product is not being purchased because customers did not know about coupons.

I get it we all get pissed off when others take everything however, they are free coupons and they should be out in the store. Well, there goes my shopping at SOF... at least on North side, we shall see about others. Also, I am sending my question about this to HO. I am sick and tired of people making these decision without even thinking about it. And Mike really, dont you have other bigger things to worry about than coupons that are free and meant to be used. Oh and dont even get me started on staff in SOF on North side. Rude and obnoxious another reason why I do not go there.

Actually, it is Buckley's $3 off any liquid pills buckley's .... it that new one that came out not too long ago. I guess they have more coupons.... I swear, when stores keep coupons in the back and dont put them out throughout the day (depending on how fast they go), it means me even more mad than when one person comes in and takes more than what they need. I'm confused. Aren't you then contradicting yourself? First you were upset & vocalized it about the fact that there are people who are taking wayyyy too many coupons/the whole pad......and now that one store is trying something new to stop this behavior & to give all couponers a chance at getting some for themselves, that isn't good either? I don't see it as a big deal to stop at CS as soon as I go into a store & ask them for coupons......but that's just my opinion. I get that the coupons themselves are free & that they aren't the 'property' of the store. However, all stores do have a choice in whether or not they allow coupons to be placed in their stores. So instead of disallowing coupons in their store, they're trying to find a 'fair' way to distribute them to consumers & still offering them to non couponers at the tills if they purchase products that coupons are available for. As I said previously, it would be nice if there was signage or some indication of if there is a coupon for a specific product & where to get the coupon, but I think they're trying their best to accommodate couponers & shoppers alike. Also, I'm not sure if you were just giving examples or if you are actually able to get out to food shop/price check/look for coupons 4 times a week, but if so you're fortunate. I know for myself I am lucky if I get to go once a week. And that involves bringing my kids 99% of the time + driving into Red Deer. So when I go to 3 different stores in a row & there is not a single freakin usable coupon available, it REALLY pisses me off. I don't have the time nor patience (nor do my kids) to repeatedly drive in to see if there's anything new out & it really doesn't make sense to waste fuel on useless trips to the city. However, if I know I can go to the CS desk & ask what coupons they have & get the ones I need & use, that will make my trip worthwhile. And the fact that there SHOULD still be coupons left the next week when I stop so I can get another 2-3 of each. Again, my opinion based on my reality. Everyone will see this their own way. But it is what it is. I will still continue to shop at SOF North as I have only ever had one crabby cashier the whole time I've been shopping there, the rest of the time it's been terrific service & they've been very accepting of my coupons. Granted, majority of the time I go to CS to be ring thru so I don't hold up any lines.....it's still been easy for me to shop there. Sorry to hear you've had bad experiences.
