I am thinking of joining Curves to lose some of these post pregnancy EXTRA.
Has anyone joined this program? If yes, did you like it? Was it affective?
Any thoughts would help.
They have free registration on June 23 and 24th in my area.
Thanking you in advance. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

my MIL was a member for a while and she really enjoyed it. It's a fast paced program they run and you move from machine to machine rather quickly. She really liked that feature.
But if you are the type that will want to sit on the bike or walk on the treadmill for any length of time then it's likely not the right program for you.Last edited by itsjustmebub; Tue, Jun 15th, 2010 at 12:16 PM.

It's been some years since I looked into it. But at the time, the dealbreaker for me was that they had no shower facilities! Hopefully that's changed by now.

I have had a few friends join and say it wasn't for them, it was more about maintaining weight then shedding and they hated that your only on a machine for a few minutes before you have to switch. They joined the gym instead and hired a trainer for a few hours to show them the ropes.

I went to Curves once as a one free session free deal. I didn't like it. Like Sally said, I would rather pay for a personnal trainer for a few hours and go to the gym. I didn't like the way everyone is in a circle "looking" at each other. That said, I also have a friend that swears by it and has been going for ever... not much help, am I? LOL, sorry

Out of curiosity why do they make you get off a piece of equipment and rotate? Some people just aren't treadmill type of people, personally I love the bike and elliptical and would rarely ever walk on a mill...so why would they tell me what works for me or doesn't if I paid for the membership?

The quick part gets my attention, seeing I rarely get time for myself. I need to lose the weight after being pregnant for the last three years. I just need something I enjoy and can fit in.
Too hard to exercise at home when you know there is always something to do.
Thanks all for your posts, seems the program fits some.

I loved the 'circuit training' and the women working there are fabulous and full of energy ... however, due to certain circumstances, I had to quit going and was given bad information when I signed up - so they kept taking money out of my account for months before I figured it out [I was told as a student I had to recommitt with every semester, LOL!] ... so definately watch that!
... I'm earning $5-25 Amazon.ca gift cards EVERY month, are you?
P.S. ... starting to hunt for ShoppingChannel GC's with no minimum purchase ...
